The scout knife is really cool. I don't believe I've seen one with long pulls on the opener tools before.

Look forward to your pics Dan ::tu::
Coming right up!

Probably my favorite pattern is the Stockman. Those that measure 3.25 to 3.75 inches closed and have clip, spey, and sheepsfoot blades are my favorite carriers. I like having three useful blades in a pocket-friendly frame. I often open mail and packages with the clip blade. Spey blades come in handy when opening a pet food bag that doesn't have a pull string. And the sheepsfoot blade works surprisingly well for slightly more demanding jobs, such as opening caulk tubes. My three carrier Stockmen are below: a Schrade 34OT, a Case 3318, and a dark red Case 6318.

Stockman Trio.jpg

The 3318 is getting a little pocket time right now. Joining it are the 34OT and a Schrade 219 jack. They are pictured with an indispensable tool of a previous trade that still comes in handy on occasion.

Great knives Dan, Stockmans are my favourite as geeat for whittling ::tu:: medium sized stockmans are a great size for daily carry, i carry my case 6344 cv a lot ::tu::

Bugnard seems to have a lot of models Victorinox doesn't regularly offer anymore, but they don't ship to the US (or basically anywhere outside of Switzerland).
Thank you. Came across it on the Bay a while back and had to get it! I'd love to find one with a punch instead of the electrician blade ;)
Dan In MI wrote: Tue Jul 27, 2021 7:45 pm Nice carriers, all! Two have me intrigued: Paul's Case (Kirinite 18?) and Mike's Victorinox (I don't recognize the pattern).

I'll have a contribution to this thread soon.
Think they called that one the Apprentice? Slim single spring, alox, and great blade combination on it.

Nice pair. You're photos of the S&M 042151 really bring out the color of the bones...I always saw it as much darker brown, but in your pics it has a lot more red tones than I realized. Good job revealing the true nature/character of the bone. ::tu::

I am curious about what appears to be a dark discolored area on the pile side of your GEC #85...is the cover discolored from use or does it just appear that way due to shadow/lighting? ::hmm::

The S&M mini T looks very different in different light conditions. Looks flat and brown sometimes, looks red and deep others. As for the GEC 85, good eye, but it's just shadow from one of the taller flowers out of frame that casts a shadow over the framed area. Thanks for the compliments, and thanks for two of the best knives in the pile.

Thanks you too doglegg.

Dan, I had that old Western Scout/Camper in a box with a bunch of Camullis knives and I thought it was another Camullis ::skeptic:: there it sat and when I opened it up to oil the joints one day not too long ago.. ::dang:: looks like I am still not an "Expert" when it comes to knowing about pocket knives

I daresay I've never had to give a knife a break-in period...but then again, most of the things I use a knife for are mundane and light-duty.
