Woe Jerry, just seeing this now, very cool
. I had never heard of dichrolam before so had to look it up, pretty vibrant stuff!

Has it been used alot in knife handles? Is that part of Case's regular offerings now, like kirinite?

Received my patriotic Tac-Force yesterday. Delivered on the day specified but zero communication or tracking. I'm curious as to why because Amazon has never done it that way before. ::shrug::

All I can say about it is it's a large knife and very colorful. (and cheap at $10.00) That's okay. It's just a show piece.

Tom, I have a patriotic streak in me. It may have something to do with the 4 years 2 months & 12 days I spent with Uncle Sam's Misguided Children. I have a few others that sport the stars & bars.

After carrying a 110LT and 110LT Slim Select (as well as a '96 442) for 30 days as a part of another forum's Ranger Challenge, I determined that the new lightweight Buck Ranger and Hunter had truly terrible handles.

Thus, I decided to try the first and second-generation 422 Bucklite Ranger, mostly due to their finger grooves and less aggressive handle textures. I have to admit, I think I've found the perfect lightweight 112. Buck may have to end up thinning the edge to the factory angle. The edge on this was horrible, and I don't think mine is thin enough.

I haven't seen it in person yet, but this handle material sure looks good in pictures.

I picked up a Western (Acme) Crosstrail 7" today at Tractor Supply for $15 to try as a farm work beater.

The sheath carries well, the knife feels decent in my hand, but it's still a pretty cheaply built knife. The sheath is flimsy, and despite the "titanium nitride"" (it doesn't make the blade harder as they say--it's just decorative) labeling, I'll be sharpening the soft "420 Stainless" blade a lot.

Well, I can't expect much for $15, except maybe a Mora is about the only thing that will be better at that price. Tractor Supply has kept these in constant stock for ages, so I'm sure it's going to be something that's easy to replace if I lose it.
