I just found this Moore Maker trapper today at Unclaimed Baggage in Scottsboro AL. That means it was lost along with somebody's luggage a year or so ago, and they should have been reimbursed by the airline's insurance.
There is a crack in the bone on the mark side, and it has someone's initials engraved in the handle.
I wanted to post it here before I rehandle the knife, on the off-chance that it belonged to someone on this forum.
If this knife was yours, if it was important to you, and if you can tell me all 3 of the initials, I am willing to sell it to you at cost, if you want it.

This GEC 97 in jigged cherry wood handle came today. Another wooden handled knife. Finding some really nice wooden handles lately.

Folding knife of the pilot of the USSR Air Force

The knife was designed in 1983 to supply the pilots of the air force as an element of flight equipment. Since the product was inaccessible to the average consumer, it was very popular both among the military and among civilians. Serial production of the knife stopped in 1991.
Part of the survival kit НАЗ-8 (НАЗ - wearable emergency reserve).
A very rare knife I've long been looking for.

Is the notch near the end of the saw blade original or did a previous owner modify it?

So it's original, but I'm not sure about the function.

Sheer elegance - what beautiful ivory and just the right pattern to showcase the quality workmanship. OH
