Thanks, Papa Bones. You now have me thinking of adding a Sod Buster Jr. as a carrier (in addition to a Copperlock).

I carried a Case Sodbuster for a while back in the mid-70's. I never really bonded with it.

A couple of beauties there Smitty! I'm really diggn' the Barlow, and the display is super-cool too!Papa Bones wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 10:26 pm Got a couple in today.
First, a rather unique Camillus 72Y Carpenters Whittler. Not only is it like new in the box with the original wrapper and pamphlet, but the pile side of the master clip blade has the 1997 22LR6 tang stamp while the front of the blade has the Double Line Camillus Tang Stamp and the Yellow Jacket blade etch. I will also post this in the Camillus 72 thread.

I also received this piece of Queen ephemera. A Queen Steel #22 Barlow Box that has the display surface with backboard. It is like new, with hardly any rubs. The diecut straps on the box have not been unfolded. I also included a photo of it with my Queen Steel #22 Barlow with it, but I did not unfold the straps.

Thanks for makin' it all possible Mark!
Smitty that yellow whittler is a sharp looking knife. I like the Barlow display with a Barlow on it.
Stan be sure to let us know how that Fallkniven holds up. The steel sounds superb. I have some Japanese knives made from powdered steel but have never used them.

Very nice Dan! Sodbusters are one of my favorite patterns, although, I'm partial to the full-size models, and the covers on yours are stunning. Nothin' wrong with being a "bonehead", and there's no such thing as spending too much on knives! Jus sayin'! LOL!Dan In MI wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 1:55 am I, too, like the Yellow Jackets.
My new arrival for today was a Case Sod Buster Jr. with crimson peach seed jigged bone covers. Am I becoming a "bonehead" and/or spending a little too much money on my new hobby?

I've been carrying one off and on since December. For its size, the Sodbuster Jr. really packs a punch. The bone versions are said to be slimmer, but I kinda prefer the fatter handle.

Got these in today.
A Boker Tree Brand 493 Barlow. Excellant Snap on the blades. They have some of their original luster, but are spotted with some small scratches. They don't appear to have any sharpening abuse. Bolsters are tight and handles have no cracks. A nice addition to my Barlow Box.
Also picked up a couple more 2021 Case Copperheads. A 6249CV Deep Red Peachseed Jig Bone, and a 2249 Smooth Black Synthetic handle. Just pulled them out of the box for the pics.

Papa Bones, both of your Copperheads are strikingly good looking.
Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Thanks, Tom! Your axe head (Ox's Head Green, when translated from German) and Smitty's knives are great pieces, too.
This little Case Peanut with smooth synthetic gray covers was delivered to me today. The seller even threw in a Buffalo nickel as a bonus. Adding more Peanuts is definitely a goal of mine.

Dan! The significance of the nickel is an old tradition amongst knife buyers/sellers, it's to ensure the relationship isn't "cut" after the purchase, or something similar to that. Thought you'd like to know!Dan In MI wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 11:42 pmThanks, Tom! Your axe head (Ox's Head Green, when translated from German) and Smitty's knives are great pieces, too.
