AGR calls this a Boxcar Jack btw. Case trademarked the name Hobo Knife. Since hobos back in the Depression rode in empty boxcars fairly often while looking for work, the name fits well.
I like that, it is a very good looking knife, and would be a great addition to any kit!! ::tu:: ::tu::

I received this Ulster 114 in the mail yesterday. Fished it out of the bay, and it is like new. The blades have never been re-sharpened, all have awesome snap, and handles are like new & show no wear. The handles I believe are delrin, but not sure. Looking at them through my 65x lighted loop, the sides do not have the smooth even lines of delrin, they almost seem fibrous, and have a deep clear crystaline structure on the side cuts. Could it be wood with maybe some kind of epoxy stabilization??? I believe this knife has never been used. Besides the low price ($25) I also liked the "West Point" blade etch, plus.....what's not to like about a utility / camp knife. The blades are not stainless, I did the toothpick / gun blueing test on the kick of the punch and it blued instantly. The tang tamp on the spear blade is simply ULSTER over USA which was used up until the early 1970's. I know nothing about the pre-ownership of this knife, but wonder if back then it could have been offered through the West Point Military Academy gift shop? I did nothing to his knife other than wipe it down and oil the joints. Here are some pics. Excuse the shots, been raining here for two days, so indoor lighting.

This would be the place. "Knife finds" is more like something from a hardware store or a yard sale, etc. I can see where it would be confusing.

I thought it was when I find a knife I didn’t remember having or one I’d been looking for around here for weeks…and Shazam I found it in the beer drawer in my refrigerator in the garage….happened more than once

Some great pick-ups, everyone! ::tu::

I received a recent Knife Center order today. (Fortunately, the individual who picked up their USPS shipments either got his act together or was replaced.) A Lansky Turnbox, some replacement Swiss Army knife parts, and a pair of MAM Filmam 2Bs.

That Parker is pretty slick. I've never seen a Parker like that. Is that made by the famous (or infamous) James Parker, former owner of Case?

Yes it was made by his company and my guess is mid 80s I got it from the bay, it came today and I have a bunch of Parker’s but it’s the first one of these I have found. I will search out and try to find out more.

I recieved this Linder Solingen knife 10 or so days ago, just haven't had time to post it yet. It has two small issues with it's F&F. For one, it has a small ding on one of the bolsters & two..., one of the lanyard holes is not perfectly round. :roll: Other than that, is a sweet little 3" Lock Back with a very strong spring tension. It has beautiful wood handles & was only like $14 shipped. I have added a leather lanyard this morning that I will post pictures of in the lanyard thread. Thanks for looking friends! ::handshake:: ::tu:: :D
