The last photo should show the stamped seal the best, although none of the mark side photos really show it clearly.
Thank you Tsar Bomba, I believe I've got it covered. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts & Camp Fire Girls utensil kit knives, tang stamps by Geo Schrade, Imperial and Boker.

Now understand I ain't fussing about it but it seems like lot of difference in mailing cost. Both came from the great state of Ohio. 20190821_171752.jpg20190821_171558.jpg
Same thing up here in Canada. Those bubble mailers are about double purchase price then boxes and double shipping costs. They are only supposed to be used for expensive documents/letters/pictures/ect. Boxes are cheap and a lot safer to ship hard stuff, i.e. knives. One time I hade a N scale model locomotive bought off of ebay. I didn't pay for shipping. They took over a $30 hit. Would of only cost $5 to ship by box and much, much safer.

Hadn't posted in a while because, well ,even though i have bought quite a few knives over the last few months...and have found some decent deals.its been a while since i got a killer auction knife that upon recieving it ,was just dumbfounded..I collect schrade U.S.A. among others ..but i don't have the unlimited knife budget that some of our members are fortunate enough to have..so I must be patient..and do.my homework..so i was looking for an 885 UH king Ranch...several nice ones on Ebay in the $80.00 to $145.00 dollar range..but i found one with some of my "secret search technics" for a " buy it now "price of $19.00 dollars and $ 7.00 for shipping..I felt for sure despite the pics , i would receive a taylor chinese schrade...but took the chance ...and wow was I ever rewarded...this is a 1970-73 unused schrade walden king ranch with nickel silver jimped liners , box with hinges.its now in the top 5 of my favorite schrades on tpp of that its serial# is 07488...no letters so i think the 7488th UH 885 made..

Wbyonder,
I see that you did indeed get a great knife for a great price! ::tu:: The jimping does really make a knife look good.
Fill me in on the King Ranch connection. I'm aware of their Santa Gertrudis cattle history but what is the tie to the knife?

Pardon me for butting in but King Ranch is a money making outfit and along with ranching, farming and hunting they will sell their name to about anyone wanting to capitalize on it. Leather goods, vehicles, pocket knives, hunting accessories, anything that someone is willing to pay for use of the name. It is an amazing operation. My wife and I have been down and toured it once. And yes Philip, red cattle as far as the eye can see. ::nod::

Floyd, we know about them red cows. Back in the day when we had a little commercial herd, we had 3 different Gert bulls over several years. The last one was the most docile critter we had on the farm. Our son showed him at the county youth fair and everyone was afraid of the bull getting loose! Can't find a picture of the bull and our little boy to share but here is what he looked like out in the pasture:
#48h.jpg
You didn't want him to step on your foot, even with boots on, he was 2200+ pounds.
Hey we still don't know how the Uncle Henry ties back into the King Ranch. ::hmm::
Oh yeah, we had one Santa Gertrudis bull that would beat the side out of your pickup truck, he had an attitude. :)

Spanish Army Knife--1990s-era. The 1980s and older were made in Spain by Aitor, these are Chinese (and yes, the Spanish military did use Chinese-made knives at this time. Still looks to be a really good knife.

Yesterday's trip to the post office produced these 3 knives. Another Camillus 1047 Scout knife with a "federal" style shield. This one is slightly better than the last 1047 I received. This one just has shrinking handles, no cracks and no broken pieces. An Ulster 63 which shows some definite blade use and an Imperial "steer head" jack knife. My 1st "steer head."

Well I just blew my knife budget out of the water this month. Had to have this osage version in spite of already picking up 2 others this month but I'm a happy camper. Looking forward to watching the osage covers mellow and darken with age and use.
