In the past couple days, I received in the mail a couple I bought from Scott, the Carrier bone jack and the little Imperial kids knife which I dressed up in a new made sheath. The spoon was gifted to me by Scott and I love it. Thank you Scott Then on my way to work yesterday I stopped at a rummage sale and bought the Wadsworth jack and two of the G96 Jet-AER Corp. No.803 Choice knives, all three for $9. I gave my son the second G96. The guy I bought the G96's from said he had more and only wanted $3 each. I wished I had bought more. Today I ran back up to see if he had any left at the sale. They run $30 to $60 on line. When I got to the sale he had much of what was left on the sidewalk for free and was putting the last of the sale items away. I walked up and told him I regretted not buying a few more of the lockbacks. He said he still had some and asked me how many I wanted, 20?, 30? I said how about 10. They are all new in the box but the boxes got damp and smell mildew. Also the leather smells. They are really nice knives, all in mint condition not counting the smell. For $30 I can spend a little time descenting them. If the smell doesn't come out, at least it will be a constant reminder of the great deal I got. ___Dave

All very nice, gentlemen. If I may, here is the weekend haul, so far.
It looks like a Richards Scout meeting around here! ::shrug::. I’m fine with that! ::tu::

The brown and white ones were part of yesterday’s ‘mail bomb’. At first I thought I had both, but discovered to my delight that neither of my knives had the fish scaler/hook remover. Yay!
The blueish ones aren’t actually matched. One is way more blue and the other more to the greenish side. I have other parts of the ‘family’ for both colours.
I have my suspicions about the little Piper. He’ll likely be going into segregation, but for now I’m happy to have him. He and the blue scouts are all from the Red Barn as is the little oddball.
I bought it just because of the way it’s made. The lettering and the building are both metal, inlaid into the celluloid. The building (Hoover Limited) sits more on the scale but the words, which are “Manpower AJH” are set right in. It’s also odd in that the celluloid wraps right around the backspring in one solid piece. It’s too bad about the tipped blade but someone filed it into quite a little scalpel. Hey, for four bucks Canadian, it’s worth it for the oddity! Oh yeah, it’s a Harrison Fisher and Co. Sheffield.
I’ll throw in the chisel. It’s a W. Marple and Sons Sheffield and looks older than dirt. I haven’t looked it up yet.
There ya go! :mrgreen:

Here's the lineup of the G96's waiting for their sheaths to get treated for mildew. So far I haven't found anything that works well. The whole lineup cost me $30. ___Dave

Wow!! :shock: ::tu::
You could try high % vodka. Mom found out that it makes great odor remover for shoes. It may work for all kinds of leather goods. Can't hurt. Well, the knife, not you... :mrgreen: You could use the rest of the bottle to make Swedish meatballs. Best thing you'll ever eat. Well one of the many home made foods.

You didn't buy 'em;you STOLE 'em! Great score on some great (and under appreciated)knives. This may sound a bit odd but you might try a little Massengill douche(which is basically white vinegar & water)to treat the mildew. It also works great for removing the skunk stink from dumb dogs.Forget the tomato products;they don't work.
