Thanks for the tip! I am going to try it on the next shotsSasquach wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 12:39 pm Nice Camillus GSP.
If you feel that the light of day is too bright, shoot in the shade. Depending on where you are shade might be in short supply. Sometimes when I'm shooting outdoors I stand so that my shadow falls across the knife so the light in the photo isn't too intense. It also helps keep the sun reflecting from the blade and bolsters ruining your shot.

That is beautiful !!! That knife should be on the "Anyone have "Short-Line Fever"? It's better than Covid-19" thread under the Camillus collectors' forum.

Re: Knife Photography
It's a slip joint folder Smitty. It is obviously a promotional item for Stihl but I don't know who made it. The tang stamp simply says INOX Solingen Germany. The scales are a very heavy dense plastic that is very hard. Snaps like a gator and it's wicked sharp. At 4 1/2" closed it's a good all purpose utility knife.Papa Bones wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 5:03 pmWhoa!!!! That is one of the most beautiful condition Shortline 68's I've seen.

Re: Knife Photography
Doing some light brush clean up today and using my trusty old "chopper". When taking this picture a few javelina (sort of a desert pig) came up into the yard. You see one in the background right behind the blade.

Re: Knife Photography
That is an interesting chopper, GSP. Looks handy, well used and taken care of. Are javelinas short tempered critters? Well, I got a new (old) knife today and had to try out different backgrounds - a bobcat skull, an old book and a brass frog. The knife is a Cripple Creek Coffin Jack from SharpNShinyKnives here on AAPK.

I don't get creative with my photos so maybe this doesn't belong here. I just posted this pic on the BCCI forum so I figured I would post it here too. It's my entire Buck 700 series collection so far. I'm still missing the 709.

Thanks Willy and Scott.
Coming from you Scott, that's quite a compliment! I just keep experimenting with different backgrounds and lighting. I've been on an outdoor binge lately since I go out at least once a day to walk the Muffin Head in the grove. Springtime has provided a variety of backgrounds. Thanks again.

Re: Knife Photography
Beautiful imperial Scott. Looks like it still has some of the factory luster. Man ...you must be living right!!
Good looking Chopper, it looks like it will get the job done. I've shot a few Javelina. Those critters have already migrated over into Louisiana, and Mississippi. Last time I saw one live was at Camp Shelby. I figure they will be here next to migrate to Alabama, we already have a large Armadillo population.
Very Nice
