Thanks Iman! Goncalo Alves is very similar in appearance to Bocote and Cocobolo. It seems to be more popular for pistol grips but can be found on knife handles as well.
Hmmmmmmm, never heard of it but it's pretty wood with great grain. I'll look for that kind, I make wodden whistles and such and that kind of stuff would be pretty if it's semi-hard. Needs to be hard enough it doesn't ding up at the drop of a hat or the whistle. Thanks for the tip, I'll look it up.

I'm not sure about Tvic's knife but Case seems to have moved away from using Corelon and started using another material called Kirinite. I suspect that his knife is Kirinite. Below is an example of Kirinite scales:

Thanks Tom.

Took the Magnificent Mutt Muscle Missile for a walk this afternoon and forgot to pick a knife to photograph so I had to make do with what I had on me. Since I had recently shot pics of both EDCs in my pockets I decided shoot one of the Mighty Multipurpose Workhorse I carry on my belt.

Yep, it’s Corelon. It’s a 2014 issue, so did Case do Kirinite then?

Tim,
I don't know exactly when Case switched to Kirinite but the earliest knife I have with Kirinite scales is from 2015. I'm not even sure what the difference is except that Kirinite is supposed to be better. The attraction of both materials is the ability to do swirls and patterns like the old celluloid handles without the problem of off-gassing.

Thanks for noticing and commenting. Glad you like them and it's only due to the generosity of some old posters around here that I was able to get half of them. Thanks Quick.

The leaves, especially the reds, set off the knife very nicely.

Iman, that is a smokin' line up! Great pics too! ::tu::

JTX, nice Gumfuddy!!!

Scott, great pic of a cool knife. I can't make out the tang stamp...looks like a GEC large trapper.

Tim, Cats Eye was one of the coolest Corelon variations, nice shot.

Here's one from my afternoon walk with the Fabulous Furry Farklehound. The wind is blowing pretty hard out there and it was hilarious watching him chase every windblown leaf! ::rotflol::
