What's up Doc? Ya got the Butterbean and the Gunboat, now all ya need is a standard Canoe in between 'em! You'll have a trifecta! ::rotflol::

Beautiful stag! ::tu:: Thanks for showing them.

Great composition there Charlie. Wood and fabric compliment the canoe quite well and the little shiny thing. What is that color scale called? ::shrug::

It's an SHC exclusive, the color is called Tie-Dye. I just a bit disappointed in the example I have but that's what can happen when you order long distance, you get the next one off the shelf. There's nothing wrong with this knife but if I had been there in person looking at a selection of them I wouldn't have picked this one. The same is true of Appaloosa. Know what I mean?

Thank you for the comment Charlie. Green Bone may be my favorite cover in BDs, even more than stag.

Charlie, I know exactly what you mean. When I saw someone else’s Appaloosa bone Madison Barlow, I was disappointed in the one that I got, not nearly enough contrast. However, I like the one that you have. I have seen that in the SHC catalog, it’s nice to see another example of it.
I find that knives I add to the collection that I am not in love w/ will be future sells or trades if something I like better comes along. AAPK is nice place to be able to do that.

QS, that is, w/out a doubt, one of the nicest green jigged bone knives I have seen. Very nice!

Garry that three bladed canoe is one sweet piece of cutlery excellence. ::tu::

It reminds me of the Canal Street Canittler. (and you know I love them)

Very glad you like it Phil. Do you know why I didn't use the word Canittler? Because for some peculiar reason the spelling of the word gives me fits as in- Two ns; no that can't be right. One t or two? But aren't two ls more likely? The heck with it! It shall simply be a gunboat.

Thank you geocash. I don't know how familiar you are with BDs. Someone is producing them today in China. Stay strictly with the German made blades for quality.

I didn't know that Bulldog knives were now being made in China!!!!! I guess I shouldn't be surprised when companies like Buck, Kissing Crane, Puma, Remington, KaBar, and others are making some or all of their knives in Asian countries. Won't be long before you won't be able to buy anything made by us round eyes. ::td::

Anyway, here are two of my favorite German Bulldogs from my collection, Buffalo Horn & MOP.

Thanks guys!

Here are a couple more German canoes from Frank Buster - Fight'N Rooster. One thing to keep in mind if and/or when you acquire Fight'N Rooster knives is they loved celluloid handles and did some beautiful (if eventually dangerous) things with them. Both of the knives pictured below have celluloid handles.

They are beautiful though. I have a separate display/storage for celluloid knives so they can't damage other knives if/when they off-gas. I did some research and found out that the darker colors that are solid and not translucent are less likely (or take longer) to off-gas. The whole celluloid thing is hindsight. If they had known then what we know now, right. That's why we now have Delrin, Corelon, Acrylic, Kirinite, G-10, Micarta, etc. Although there are still some makers using celluloid.

This one is an example of celluloid from Case...

I've passed on many good looking celluloid BDs which I have always regretted. And I did think of separate storage. But as I got into this brand I just made the decision to keep with natural covers. Tho...they are tempting. ::undecided::
