I got blindsided yesterday by one of our members who does post very much. He been a member here on AAPK about one year and he is becoming very good knife custom of mine, and a friend. Imagine my surprise when post office to pick up my mail. I thought it was odd, since I didn't have a package coming, but that was a key in my box for a package locker. I opened up the locker and there was a box side. I went out to the car and opened the box and was totally flabbergasted by what greeted! Here is an original early Al Mar!
It is an Al Mar falcon with the original box, it should be from the early 1980s, possibly 1982.
Thank you Mel! I was totally stunned. Mel and I have discussed the knife on the phone but he had said nothing about buying it little will give you get. As many of you know Al Mar was a friend of mine who spent little time wandering through the jungle as well. This is a very special gift in so many ways, the fact that it is an Al Mar is very important. I love the GE paper micarta and the scrimchaw. The fact that this is obviously hand scrimmed and #1 of 2 makes it even more special!I got blindsided yesterday by one of our members who does post very much. An Al Mar and scrimed USMC/Viet Nam. I'll bet you about dropped your false teeth. They don't come much better than that. Congratulations Dale.
