Ok, so, here’s a couple I re-scaled with wood. But I can’t remember what kind of wood it is! Can anyone recognize it? I’d like to get some more, it looks great, and I’d like to have some around when a restoration project comes my way. Thanks all!

I posted these on the repair thread but maybe the wood fans may like them. I re-handled them in Brazilian rosewood from a luthier friend of mine. They were both gassed out celluloid and totally shot. The moose is a very old NOVELTY CUTLERY and the tickler is a KA BAR/L.L.BEAN. J.O'.

Time to show some more wood! I've probably shown these electrician's knives before, but I recently got them together for a group photo. We have a 1917-1939 Robeson, a Camillus that's likely WWII, and a 1974 Case. The Case has walnut, but I'm unsure about the Robeson and the Camillus.

All beautiful examples of wood. One thing about wood, it just ages so well.Dan In MI wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 5:44 am Time to show some more wood! Great wood guys, I really like wood and pearl handles on knives!
I made this Damascus raindrop fixed blade a couple of years ago and used claro walnut I believe with just a 5000 grit buffed finish.

Good looking wood you have too. Loooooooooooooooove the blonde looking wood second from the left, and the striped far right, and the first one on the left with that splotchy leopard spot looking stuff. Wood grain is so cool and you have some great stuff.

I neglected to label the wood. from left.. leopard wood, olive, black palm, osage orange & factory?? maybe plantation ebony? hope to do a spalted maple and a spalted flame box elder and white oak.
