Even though it was labeled "On Back Order", I ordered one from Shepherd Hills on Jan. 27th. Still a no show so I checked SMKW and found one and ordered from them. Canceled the order with Shepherd Hills. It is currently wending it's way through The Great Midwest towards it's destination (me). Tracking says delivery on Thursday but there's a chance it will be here tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Stock picture of course.

::hmm:: The Case knives (6?) & Purinas (3) have to stay in the family. The rest (20 - 25 or so) can be divided up ok. :D ::tu:: Petesknives & redrider both get a Case Zippo. ::tu::

Folks ordered their plants and seeds from Burpee due to the whole Coronavirus lockdown thing.

I ordered this knife.

Dewit Garden Knife; 4" boron steel blade, made in the Netherlands.
prod500316.jpg

A little confused here. This is the Dewit USA page; showing a knife with an extended, round tang, like basically any garden implement, like weeders. I personally like the style Burpee shows, but not this other design. Not sure which is correct--should've asked.

At $26, it's not a whole lot, but I'm hoping it's the proper thing. In restrospect, I should've just went with a Dexter-Russell shoe knife. Same profile, tough carbon steel as well, and about half the price.

Speaking of that, I ended up buying this on the D/R site for the heavier cutting I do in the garden. May end up using it instead.

Dexter Russell Sani-Safe 3.5" Utility/Net Knife with sheath. Made in USA and $22. Thinking this will see a LOT of use.

Wow  nice selection Jerry! ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu:: :D

Made an offer on a small Schrade just before I went to bed & woke up with a new knife. ::super_happy:: This will be my first Schrade other than my Shapleigh D E. ::groove:: The seller's pictures are not that good and looking at his other knives I believe it's in better condition than the pictures may depict. We shall soon see. :D

Nice stuff! Pearl lobsters always get my attention.

I'm Canadian so I often use a parcel-forwarder when sellers won't ship outside the US. The pile got big enough and now I have a real nice box-full of incoming knives and ephemera. I have been waiting for my "Fortune knife" since last December. Box was just let out of customs. I should get it Monday. Obviously, I can't wait. Patience is a virtue as-they-say.

Last night I bought this unbranded, "camping" style, "deer head", multi-blade/tool pocket knife. It will make a welcomed addition to the zoo. There's nothing special about it. The looks and the price said "buy me", so I did. When I receive it, it'll get the once over. It looks to be in fantastic condition. I'll take some pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).

Thank you Quick Steel. It's supposedly unbranded except for the "ROSTFREI" tang stamp. ::tu::

So..., the showcase I bought won't be coming. ::td::

The seller wrote to me and said it got stolen. She had it in an unlocked storage room in the basement of an apartment complex & when she went to get it so she could mail it to me, it was gone without a trace. ::doh:: Women. ::dang::

It was too good to be true for $33 shipped. That stinks!!! ::td:: I searched for months to find the right look, price & size and it gets stolen. ::facepalm:: Man!!! :x

I bought the three colors of Buck 722 Spitfire's that existed back in 2013/2014. I also got the three colors they made for Wal-Mart (same knife, called a 721, with a couple of minor differences). Orange, Green & Gray. Since then Buck has introduced Brown, Blue, Red, Black, Black Blade & White Handle and Yellow which are all almost twice the price of the originals. I've ignored them until now. Found a NIB Yellow one for what I considered a decent price and it's in route.

A very similar situation happened to me a couple months ago Tom.
I found a "R.M.S. Aquitania" ship knife that my Uncle sailed to France on during his deployment to WW1. After I purchased it, the seller informed me it was lost during his residential move. :x ::paranoid::

Y'all.... I'm sorry but I have to call BS to this kind of thing. Sellers remorse is out there and if somebody doesn't get what they figured they should have...OR.... if an outsider steps in and says, "I can't believe you sold that thing so cheap"... then, out comes the excuses.
I have been bit by that dog at least twice that I can recall right away.
I mean WHO puts something up for sale that they have a PICTURE OF and then after it sells goes to see IF they can find it..... REALLY??
That kind of thing ticks me off.....

People.....
