Very nice knife!

M.M. I've had several Maserins (maybe Maserini in Italiano ::hmm:: ) and they are Top quality, that looks like a great knife! ::tu:: ::tu::

Yah, thanks Dog.
I have a couple in my collection somewhere, I'll see if I can find them.
Really solid well-made knives, IMHO, and reasonably priced ta boot!

My first Myerchin. The seller didn't specify the model, but I think it's the Gen 1 Crew; which is 3.5" closed. It's also Japan-made.
s-l1600MEYERCHINRIGGER.jpg
I've really admired the current designs, as they are decently built and have one-hand opening. Myerchin seems to be the go-to brand for quality rigging knives today. However, I wasn't crazy about the fact most of the current ones are China-made, so I went looking for a Japanese-made first-generation model. I've found most were badly abused, overpriced, or both. A lot of them are also the "Bladelight" version with LED, and they tend to not work anymore, so I pass on those. This one has been used and sharpened but cared for.

At $30 shipped, it was barely more than all the cheapest Chinese rigging knives, and the blade-only OHO Sheepsfoot folder (which is at least Taiwanese) that West Marine sells.

This one will be on me most of the time since most of my current marlinspikes are either retired to the military cabinet (all my British, Canadian, and Italian-issue ones), or in kits; so I wanted another to use every day, and I wanted to be one-hand opening--and Myerchin was the only good option.

However, the newer ones have a frame lock on both the spike and blade (this one, shackle lock spike, slip-joint blade); have a pocket clip, and are MUCH lighter due to having titanium and not stainless handles. However, at just 3.5" closed, it should be a brick in my pocket.

This one is incoming… still in clam pack

‘Old Glory’ inscribed on the blade on this one. I have another that says ‘God Bless America’ on the blade

No.

But..., if you Google "The Good War" there are a number of books by different Authors titled "The Good War". Most of which deal with WW-II. I never knew it was referred to as being "The Good War". ::hmm::
