Thanks for looking! ::handshake::

I believe this was from one of the Copenhagen/Skoal promos in the early 1990s, as there was a "Fisherman's Gift Set" issued in 1992 that included a 167UH and an 885UH all in genuine stag. Only 500 were produced. I presume it was a second/warranty spare due to that pin crack.

I bid on a knife with the same handle, but a tiny caping blade that would be of no use as a woodcraft/work/EDC fixed blade, but they also had this one, which is far more reasonable for daily use. Only cost me $15 shipped. I plan to most definitely use it.

Western by Camillus Buckmasters-branded fixed blade. I think this is a WR-12, which should have a 4.5" blade, but to me, it looks like the blade on this one is somewhat smaller--more like 3". Might just be the angle and the lighting deceiving me, however.

Thanks! With that big handle and short blade, it ought to have quite a bit of control.

That reminds me; I need to get up with him about getting it done. One of those three I bought has a nasty spot where the handle somehow hit the belt at the Kutmaster factory.

Well.... another addition to my 72 Clone group is in the mail. A 2001 Remington R14 Show Knife with the solid wood handles. These are the sellers pictures. I will post some after I receive it in the "Camillus 72 Clones" Thread.

Another fantastic addition to your "72" variation collection.
Remember, there is a total of FOUR Remington variations of the "72."

Ok....I've got the R14D which is Delrin, I've got the R14 wood show knife coming, and know of a R14 with laminated wood handles similar to frost wood. I've also seen a Remington RE18293 that had black imitation stag delrin handles. Is the last one the one your talking about?

Are you talking about the different colors and shades of colors in the handles? If you're not, forget about reading the rest of what I've written here. I draw the line at subtle nuances for classifying a pocket knife as a clone or variation of a CAMILLUS 72 or, as a clone or variation of itself. To me at least, the difference(s) should be quite noticeable. For example, tang stamps, shields, handle material, blade etching, etc. Not different shades of colors in wood handles.
But that's just me and my opinion.

I don't have the knife in hand, and I may order it to see. But I am wondering if they used the same method as frost wood handles, which is laminated. The other wood handles are a solid wood. Not sure of the type but looks like walnut, but just may be walnut stain. But I understand what your saying. ::tu::

You really should check out these modern, made in China, Robi Klaas / KC's. Man I'm tellin ya, ya can't beat the quality of F&F for the price. I'm paying 27-33 for em but they are much cheaper on US sites. Selling at RR prices but I find em to be even better than RR from the quality. ::nod:: This one will be the 4-th one in my collection and if I can keep finding them on the bay, it won't be my last one. ::tu:: I'll go grab the three I already have & take a snap shot to add to this post so you can see how pretty they are. And yes, I do carry these because they aren't sooo expensive. :D Great knives I can afford! :mrgreen:

Have a great Sunday everyone, ::super_happy::
Tom

Edit: They also have a Stockman in Slick Black & a Trapper with the same Brown Bone as the one in my pictures that I want but they sold out before I got em. ::doh::
