Thanks guys, it was so good to get out of town for a day. Plus I found some driftwood burls I think I can use for pens.

Some photos would be interesting, would get a lot of views in the Miscellaneous thread under General Off Topic Discussion :D

I thought that this rotting pine stump made a good spot to park a couple of knives....

John that style of knife is always intriguing to me. I have seen one like it offered by a Canadian seller. Looks very useful. Thanks for sharing and great pic. ::nod:: ::nod:: ::tu::

I remember seeing similar things on a cold morning when we had to get water from the spring. We just would say "the ground is spewed up it's so cold." I'm not sure but it looks like moisture after a rain that frozen and had no place to go but up.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Thanks, it was a really nice day to be out there and I found a bunch of agates because the high water rolled things around a bit.

I have walked past it a few times in the last couple of months, always admiring the hues and texture of the wood. This morning, before I left the house, I grabbed some old bones to exhibit on this "natural showcase".

Great shot. Mother Nature makes the best backdrops IMO.
