Both of those angled shots are very fine Scott. I can't choose between them, but then I don't have to. :) The dappled sunlight of the top shot is very effective.

Did the Aufterheide Scenic Byway (FS19) yesterday, a 60 mile drive up the McKenzie Highway then 60 miles of a little twisty road through the woods, then we turned onto a side road to connect with Nif Fall Creek Road (FS18) which turned out to be somewhere between 20-40 miles of pretty rough gravel (should have brought the truck not the econo car!). It was a totally beautiful trip! We probably only saw a dozen cars in 70 to 80 miles of driving.

Some great scenery!
Your drive sounds like one my wife and I would like. Doesn't bother us to drive 3-4 hours one way, get out for a bit of a stroll, then haul it back another 3-4 hours home. Quite often the drive is the motivating factor for getting out of the house than the destination itself!
Take care and God bless,

Steve,
You nailed it. We love to drive. Enjoy the destinations but love the drive.
There were several rivers along the way where some gold ribbed hares ears would have produced trout. I have some light spinning gear that would have worked but left my fly rod in Alaska and those rivers were fly fishing only.

I just hacked the branches off a bushy oak growth. Then braided the stalks together to make it more tree less bush. We will see how it grows from here.

Started off with a bang, ::welcome:: to AAPK!

I just love the color contrast between them, elegant simplicity going on, well done ::tu::.

What you see as a "poor contribution," I see as a reminder of some great times working out on the flight line!
Those very knives were a stock item in our toolboxes.

Welcome aboard!

It's a fruit tree that about a month ago split in a thunderstorm. The guy that cut it up and hauled off did that so it would decay. ::shrug::
