Got this new Barlow today. It’s a Case Turquoise Curly Maple 2 blade. I am so impressed with this handle material. This is over the top, in my opinion.

Tom does that mean petrified Wildebeest horn? Never even heard of such a cover. Very cool lookers. Thanks for showing. Learn something here every day.
Barlow Bill, great looking group. Plenty for me to drool on there. Wow, sweet bunch.

Those schrades sure are nice Cal. I've got one of these big ole things.tongueriver wrote:Some Schrades.b3.jpgbarlow005.jpgbarlow006.jpgfp8.jpgFish001.jpg
I'm not a big fan of barlows but some of them are pretty neat. I do really like sawcut bone like on this camillus 51.
This gec 77 is the best barlow I've ever had. It's not chunky like most old ones (which is kind of bass ackwards) and the sheepsfoot is nice, the frame is just about right. I tried to get a red sawcut but didn't get the lottery, so I tried for this micarta and that's what I ended up with. I've never used it but still toss the idea around sometimes. For a barlow it would be an ideal user, but it's just not a stockman.
Last for now is a case that I got in a trade for some modern folder I had. This case is very well made so it's a keeper. A good stainless knife to carry in the hot and humid OK summer.

Man KSlinger that 77 Northfield and that Camillus saw cut bone do it for me. Excellent knives. I would agree with you about the 77. My favorite of all is this 77. Very good looking micarta on yours.

Re: Barlows does anyone else love them
Thanks big time, I appreciate it. That I've never seen before and never even heard of. Wow, wonder how old that Wildebeest would have to be for the bone to petrify? Looks like ivory or Giraffe bone. Facinating, and very beautiful material for handles. Bet you never get tired of looking at that. Thanks and keep showing exotics like that one. Great stuff.Chase wrote:I have just confirmed with the maker....Petrified Wildebeest Bone!

All would be a privilege to own but the cracked ice and the peachseed fish Barlow both knock my junk in the dirt, so to speak.tongueriver wrote:Some Schrades.

Not a fan of Barlows but you've got a bunch nicer than any I've managed to land...KnifeSlinger#81 wrote:Those schrades sure are nice Cal. I've got one of these big ole things.

Thank you. That's a great looking 77 you have too. Sawcut just looks right on a barlow.Ivoryman wrote:Man KSlinger that 77 Northfield and that Camillus saw cut bone do it for me. Excellent knives. I am a fan of barlows, just not a big fan where I'd want a large quantity and variety of them. I have a handful that I really like and a few I got because they were just plain cheap.Tsar Bomba wrote:Not a fan of Barlows but you've got a bunch nicer than any I've managed to land...

Pretty hard to find one, Camillus with saw cut ebony and a spey blade.
Re: Barlows does anyone else love them
Great looking Barlow's everyone, quite a wide variety of styles that fall under the umbrella of the Barlow pattern. Part of what makes accumulating them so fun!
