You are building quite a nice collection of Richards models, zoogirl. There were quite a few women who worked at the Richards company during and after WWII, so there is a good chance that some talented gals could have made part or all of some of your knives. Enclosed is a picture of mostly women working in a few areas of the Richards factory in Sheffield, England around the WWII era.
That’s great! As a factory girl myself, I have nothing but respect for the women who stepped in and stepped up during WW1 and 2. It’s nice to know that perhaps one of my knives was assembled by a woman, not much different than myself, who worked hard and did what needed to be done. Of course, I don’t have the worry of the men in my family being in the fight.
I guess in those years, there would have been a certain amount of production for military use at a cutlery factory.

You're on a Knife Roll Ann.
Should we call you "Queen Anne"?

The little brown celluloid and the gold tone are today’s finds. All are from the Red Barn Flea Market in Vancouver. The other two pics are the new little brown in its place with the larger ones I already had. I was going to grab a larger goldtone with the little one and decided to wait until I was leaving and of course the seller had already left! Oh well, I’ll get it next week.

Oh, that’s likely, Doglegg! After all, I go right over the Fraser River every day! My older son hits the fish dock almost every day in the summer, after work. Sometimes the whole lot of us goes on a Sunday.

These three jumped out of my mailbox! What a nice surprise!
I’ve been trying to get as many examples of the celluloid colours as I can, so the silver grey is a great place to start for that one. The sole Leaf Milling is actually a Richards. The printing is in awesome shape and I don’t really think it’s been sharpened. (The red on the blade is a reflection).
The little black pen is a bit rough. One blade is broken. According to the kind person who sent ‘em, it may go back to the ‘30s. I really like it, rough or not. It’s the first I have with the ‘Lamp Post Knife on the blade.

The family is ever growing! Today’s new members include a large, I think aluminum scaled, item, a little silver gentlemans that is actually the twin of one I already have and the very sad large green which was thrown in for free with the other large.
The little one is going to become one of my EDCs because it occurred to me that I was carrying everything BUT a Richards!

Ann, I too am infatuated with the Richards knives. It's the lamp post tang stamp that drags me in.

These were sent to me by Lawrence.
Richards - Sheffield England (Bomb from Lawrence).JPG
My favorite is this Richards Tool Kit. I'm reasonably certain I've posted it before.

This Richards Toothpick is a very healthy size. (But then again, maybe it's not a Toothpick ::shrug:: )

Nice little Fob Knife.

And the last one, this Pipe Knife.

I’ll be darned! I just looked and there is indeed a little nub on my plaid. I think it is a toolkit knife. Now if I only had the tools!

It wasn’t the right little nub, but I got a toolkit anyway! It was a very nice ‘bomb’. Not a Richards, but I’m totally good with that!

This Richards joined the family today.

I was told on another thread that I’m becoming the ‘Pied Piper Of Richards’. Well, I play a kazoo...guess that’s close enough!
These three celluloid beauties are running out in Cloverdale an a little while later, out in Abbotsford, the steel gentleman jumped up and yelled ‘Pick me!’ ::ds::

I love that lamp post..... That was what drew me to this one..... and the fact that it is a scout knife.

I got another “incognito’’ No. 30!
This is grey with orange stripes. I’ve actually passed it over a few times. Recently, I found out about the No.30 actually being Richards. When I looked through that box again today, I finally realized what it was. Even better, I got it with a Colonial that has been screaming at me for months. The seller cut me a deal for buying both! Yay! ::tu::
