It has been brought to my attention that the page for purchasing a premium membership subscription is hard to locate on this site. Hopefully this link will help anyone who's interested to navigate there.

I’m pretty sure he’s referring to the regular, paid memberships. In the past it was exceedingly difficult to find. I had to email Bryan about my desire to get a paid membership; but, couldn’t find them. They got moved to a prominent spot, on the home page, at one time. Seems like it got moved and replaced by the link for club knives. Honestly, I would have given up, on a membership, if I hadn’t been “hooked”. I had searched everywhere and finally used the “ contact “ info. Seems like you would want the membership link pretty prominent and readily available. ::shrug::

Hey guys! A bit off topic...but I’m looking at joining the ranks of supporting members and when I went to pay for it, it added $12.95 for shipping. Just curious as to what that is for!?

Contact Bryan (owner of AAPK, user name "Bryan"), about that. Something is hosed up. That shouldn't happen.

This is a significant issue. The link to purchase a membership should definitely be on the AAPK Home page and prominent, easy to spot. I think this is especially import here as many knife collectors are a bit 'computer challenged' and might give up if the page for joining is hard to find.
Membership is of utmost importance. The more members, the more ideas and knowledge that will get posted in AAPK.

Even as I type this, I see the link right up there in the top right corner of the screen.
I went to the home page, right there in the top right corner.
Any and all pages I go to, top right corner of the screen.
You don't see it? ::shrug::

Yes i do see the 'subscription panel' at upper right of page. It seems the person wanting a membership was finding it difficult to join. Perhaps the 'subscription panel' link was temporarily not working ?
My point was simply that it needs to be an easy process to join AAPK. I think whatever the issue was is now remedied.

I believe some of the confusion relates to this thread being started in August. The web page design has changed, since original problems. The most recent post, causing the post to "resurface", regarded an additional "shipping" charge, added to the membership. I'm sure Bryan will find and correct the error.

The last time I went to pay for my membership, $12.95 for shipping was also added to my invoice. I think it may have something to do with us living in Canada? Although Roland did not mention having the same prioblem? I sent Bryan an email and he was going to look into it? However, he is very busy. So I went to my bank and got a cheque for $30 USD and mailed it to Bryan, which he was OK with.

Hi Dan, thanks for that...appreciate it!! I contacted Dan as well and we have come up with a solution. I tried it again tonight and it was still adding shipping, but will get it purchased tonight!
Take care, Bob

Hey guys, I have a question as a new premium member... posting knives in forum for sale... where do I do this? Is there a limit? How is payment set up? Are there fees? How does this work? Thanks, in advance, for your help. ::hmm::

Start by going to the top right of this page where it says “Support AAPK Through a Premium Membership“. That’s probably where you were when you bought yours. Click on it, then read down through the rules and benefits of having a membership, which tells how many knives you can sell depending on what level of membership you have. Also down at the bottom of the page are the rules of what you can sell and some other stuff you’ll need to know (like Selling Policies, etc).

Then go to the home page https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/knife_forum/. Scroll down to find the section on “Knife Commerce”. There is a thread there for “knives for sale or trade”. That’s where you can post items you want to sell.

Since you bought a membership, that’s the fee you pay. If you want to open a store that’s a whole other set-up, and there’s a percentage of sales fee that AAPK collects for having a store, in addition to the premium membership fee. You can find more about that by clicking up there in the header at the top of the page, left hand side where it says “Sell”. Or click in the top center (under the scrolling banner with knife pictures) where it says “Sell on AAPK”.

Thanks Ken. That has helped a lot. I'll learn my way through this maze soon. Until then I'll do my best not to be a bother. Does the majority have much luck in selling on here? And I got the gold, so i guess that means unlimited sales, but I wont be posting too many. Mainly just wanted to show my thanks, and contribute to the cause. And again Mr Ken, many thanks for the help. I'm new here, so just Let me know if I'm not in the right place with my post. Lots of forums.

Welcome to AAPK Olivia, glad you’re interested in becoming a premium member. To do so, on the upper right of this page is a box that says “Support AAPK through a Premium Subscription ”. Click in that box and follow the prompts. ::tu::
