Looks old. I don’t think it’s an oyster knife. Is the blade flexible like a putty knife? or stiff?

I ain't got a clue, but I'd say it's real old. Not having it in hand and all, my guess it's a old putty knife someone modified for some purpose ::shrug:: ::handshake::

Knives meant to be thrown are made like that. Here’s a newer example made by Case.

`Very similar shape. Would someone have used bone for handle? It seems like if hit butt might break.

I don't know the purpose, but I seriously doubt it's a throwing knife.

It looks like a butter knife or for spreading something soft.Could be an oyster shucker but they usually have a much fatter handle.Tapered tang indicates it is pretty old and the scratted bone makes it look really old.JMHO
