Me, I can carry and use mint knives as long as they are cheap and plentiful. I just can't bring myself to use any of my GEC's or vintage knives. Imperials are another matter entirely ::nod:: . Just me.

I recently received this vintage stag handle schrade walden. It's well used and had been cleaned at some point so I decided to force a patina on it and make it my new edc.

I'm still carrying the 861 that I've been carrying for over a month though, so for now I have two vintage edc's. It's more fun to carry old knives than new ones.

I was carrying this for a while, not as bulky as you might imagine.

On Sundays I carry the Case knife I got from my Mom who got it from my great grandfather, who carried it daily on a farm in the 40s and 50s or possibly even earlier. I restored it, derusted it and polished it as best I could but it was in ROUGH shape when I took possession of it last year. He passed 25 years ago.

Nice family heirloom. Looks like a 6318PU pattern that your grandfather obviously lived a lot, because he carried and used it, and didn’t mistreat it. Should serve you well also - you’re fortunate to have it. ::tu:: ::tu::

I have been carrying the same knife for 45 or 46 years dose that count? Been so long I can't remember at what age I bought it. I do remember it was my first not hand me down knife, I bought it with $ I earned moving bailed hay, and the hardware store that sold it is loooong gone. I have tried lots of other knives over the years and all fall short of the simple usefulness of my old Western854 Utility.

bluecow, had to look that one up, the Western 854 Utility. I can see why it would tackle about anything that needs cutting. Has the hawk bill blade lost any steel over the years?
