Re: WHAT DID YOU USE YOUR KNIFE FOR TODAY!!!!!!????
Today, I belt carried a Mora Eldris I normally do not carry fixed blades into public, but Tractor Supply definitely ain't Walmart; and most people don't care. Besides, I'm in a big outdoorsman area. I live in VA--while dirks, daggers, bowies, and autos are not allowed (as well as machetes); but no length limit. WV--3.5" or under concealed; anything open. However, I take that myself as being the limit regardless. Tennessee, I can carry anything; but try to keep it reasonable and light-duty, since all I do is typically go to Bristol and the Tri-Cities shopping once or twice a summer.
Opened some new screwdrivers. I keep losing bits; but I like having screwdrivers stashed in a lot of places. I used to have the Teeny Turner years ago, but lost nearly all the bits. The bigger one, nope. I do like it quite a bit. Picquic makes their screwdrivers in Canada, the bits in Taiwan. At least not China... My 6-in-1 is a USA Channellock, but I needed a few more bits. Unfortunately, being Canadian, they skimped on T10 and T15 for Robertson on the big driver.
New boots, and I cut the elastic and tags off. My Muck Chores had shredded foam on the calves for about a year. No big deal. Couple weeks back, they started leaking in the spring box--the rubber lower part had come unglued from the foam calf. And besides, I hated slipping all over the place with the tread in both these, and my cheaper Servus. I picked these $45 Itasca as I cannot blow another $100 on Muck to only last 2 1/2 years with moderate use. They also have aggressive mud tread; meaning no more embarassing falls.
Opened up four bags of feed for the sheep.

Cutting the tube of silicone adhesive in progressively bigger openings to caulk a crack that has opened up between the bathtub and the tile floor (that crack sucked up some caulk!). That job done I decided to make another cut on the cork butt of a fishing rod that is too long for what I’m doing with it. To keep from over cutting, I took 2-1/4” off last month and glued a rubber tip on the rod - decided to take off another inch and cut the cork diameter down to use a smaller diameter rubber tip (not so bulbous). My Sheepfoot blade on a Case 6332 handled both chores just fine - a pocketknife is a handy thing! OH

For some reason, on all my Stockmen, whether it be a Small Stockman, Medium, Large or even a Jumbo; the Sheepsfoot is the blade I mostly find myself using. Only when it's really heavy, like cutting through a large piece of rope, do I deploy the large blade.

I know what you mean - the Spay on most of my Stockman users is pristine, the Clips are a bit worn, but the Sheepfoot blades are definitely worn!cody6268 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 5:56 pmOld Hunter wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 12:56 am Cutting the tube of silicone adhesive in progressively bigger openings to caulk a crack that has opened up between the bathtub and the tile floor (that crack sucked up some caulk!). The "painter's mouth" reminds me of a thing my old uncle made when I was a little boy. He called it a "bull roarer". It made a loud noise when he swung it around in a circle. Can't remember much about it as I was very young. I think he said it was against the law to use one where they used to live in either KY, OH or WV. He said the noise would agitate a bull on an adjacent farm and cause trouble. He was telling this from his boyhood experiences, he was born in 1900. Maybe , maybe not.
