I found a man with a moustache and a fez hiding in a stick so I cut him! I am not sure, but I think he may have been Turkish. It is all good though, I have a shovel and a swamp.

Nice use!
I have the Clipper without the spike, but need to get the one with it. Seems they are marketed by both MAC Coltellerie and Mercury. I like MAC as working knives, as they are cheap, but not made in China, and better made than fellow Maniago cutler Antonini's budget knives. I gave a one-hand-open lockback version with a blunt tip (sold as a rescue knife) to an arborist friend of mine for "just in case" dealing with ropes.

Very cool! I like how you kept the bark for his moustache.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Thanks It is a great EDC As I recall I got the Clipper in Venice several years ago in a boating supply shop right on the water. It has a great feel to it, nice and solid.cody6268 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 2:42 am

Used an 8OT to cut breakfast this morning. Mandarins and egg sandwiches made with eggs straight from the coop.

This Fontenille Pataud Nature (their locking laguiole) was waiting for me last friday when I got home from a couple of very stressful days out of town. Put my edge on it Saturday before starting some fall cleaning. Used it mostly for breaking down cardboard boxes and cutting duct tape for storage boxes. But when snack time came yesterday it performed admirably on the ham and cheese for my crackers. This is my second laguiole and I'm afraid it won't be my last, it checks a lot of the right boxes for me.

That is the cleanest chicken coop that I have ever seen. What do you do run the chicken**** Rumba in there? I used to raise layers, more for the fun of watching them than anything else. I let them roam until the Coyotes put me out of the chicken business. I had a Rhode Island Red rooster who thought that he was the dinosaur king. He never did learn that spurring my calf would get him a solid kick. When the Coyotes caught up with him he got a lesson in mean. The were red feathers across three acres so he must have put up an honorable resistance.1967redrider wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 5:05 pm Used an 8OT to cut breakfast this morning. We use wood chips and clean them out weekly, put fresh ones in. They come in a bag about the size of a hay bale, I'll take a picture next weekend.
Sorry to hear about your rooster, we have to keep these ladies indoors at the moment, until their yard is finished.

Re: WHAT DID YOU USE YOUR KNIFE FOR TODAY!!!!!!????
I mostly used the Stihl MS170 (the light-duty saw used mostly for yardwork--as my own 011AV needed some work done).
To cut the smaller limbs off, I used the saw on my Victorinox Rangergrip Gardener. It's as big as a small folding saw--bigger than most SAKs.
The chain skipped track and I as I took a break from using the saw, I decided to give the Condor Moonshiner a try. I've used it mostly for hatchet-type jobs as a type of bolo knife. Worked great, but I decided to get the saw fixed and back to work. Cause was a chain someone forgot to tension, and fixed by removing the chain, loosening the tension, then reattaching the chain and retensioning.

Here's the bedding we put down in the coop. It works well and is easy to deal with. The old chips end up on the garden.

I used this $5 Frost Halloween knife when trimming back my two large Aloe Vera plants, as I dug them up and potted them in preparation for our upcoming night of freezing weather this week.
I have been planting them in the yard each Spring for several years, and in return they provide me with many baby plants to give away every year!
