What is this for?

Post by XX Case XX »

I can't seem to figure out what this round indentation on the handle is for. Does anyone have any ideas? (Photo taken from Internet)

One video review, says it can be used for "bow-drill fire making". Also; one Amazon ad calls it a "bow drill divot".
IMHO...I'm not sure micarta (resin / cloth) would be a great material, for it's intended use. Maybe it's a "badge on honor" to have a melted / burned divot, in the handle of your knife ::shrug::

I passed out. Still no clue about what happened.
Just glad it wasn't Dr. Pepper.

(And for the record, I have never snorted, popped, or shot up any drug)

I don't care for the way it makes me feel, I just think it smells really good.

I hope you didn’t use aspirin with it. I’ve heard you can end up high and pregnant that way. ::woot::

Sorry, Mike.
Guess I sorta got us on a rabbit trail.
We can't bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to tell 'em stories that don't go anywhere - like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Give me five bees for a quarter, you'd say.

Now where were we? Oh yeah: the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

Make sure you keep the sheath on if you're using it for bow drilling.

It’s where you put friction stick for primitive fire starting with a bow😉
