I will guess "Hoffritz"

Oh I am sorry guys, and no that’s not it. Should I go ahead and give the answer away and let someone else play? I can’t really find any pocket knives made by the German Maker but I do find Bowie’s.
It is up to you. End it early and show us a picture of the tang marking if this is what you want to do.

According to Wikipedia, MEWA in Texas stands for Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement/Association, a health agency similar to an HMO.
?????????
What's on the front of the tang?

I’d go ahead and just give the answer, it is Karl Peters Jr. is what’s on the tang! Do anyone know much about that name?

Paraphrasing from Carter's "German Knife and Sword Makers":

The company was founded in 1937 and was registered in 1940 as a maker of cutlery, tableware, scissors, safety razors and blades. The company is still in business producing die-cast zinc components, pinking shears and carving sets.

Thank you for that info danno, the way this knife looks it almost appears to be in their early years of business. I just know every time I looked up the name I could not pull up any pocket knifes but Bowie’s were showing up.
