Ridgegrass wrote: Wed Mar 31, 2021 7:52 pm Thanks Steve. Here are more. If I really try I can almost detect patterns that are probably some cutler's personal style. Examples: the top rwo knives in the 2nd pic below. (Maybe I'm just flashing back to the 70's !) Very cool! J.O'.
Would it be safe to say that this is a great display of Roger's bone as most seem to have this common jigging????

Winst: I think if you look more closely, at least at the first 2 pages of mine you'll notice a variety of jigging, Pick bone, Winter bottom, peach seed, smooth bone, Case style, "Pebbled", "scratched', "second cut stag' style,"pressed" bone, Rodgers, and some customs. Many of the others are showing private makers' personal styles too. Give it another look. ::handshake:: J.O'.

Ridgegrass wrote: Wed Mar 31, 2021 7:17 pm Thought this up as a photo essay on different bones and jigging. Just tried to show the bones without shields. I admit it turned into an an eye crosser !
Many of us can probably ID the brands by the jigging but that wasn't the intent. Just a display of my favorite handle material. I love pearl, stag, celluloid, ebony, metal, etc.,but, for me there's nothing better than BONE. Guess I'm a BONEHEAD.:D J.O'.
More to follow
Looks as though you spent a life time "diggin up bones". ha! Beautiful display of exceptionally, fabulous artistic "pickin" thanks

Can't seen to stop myself from buying Queen knives with Amber Carved Stag Bone (ACSB) whenever I find any for sale, even on patterns I don't usually collect such as this #69 "Bomber Jack". Really love ACSB and I just can't get enough. ::nod::

Most of my Hen & Roosters have Stag handles, but I really like the bone on this H&R 212DS North Carolina Cutlery Club knife from 1984
