Has anyone any idea what the significance and rarity is of this Utica utility knife with this interesting shield? Thanks.

Very rare knife made by Utica cutlery .
I had one a few years ago .
From what I remember it was a Boy Scouts field day knife given to the scouts when they camped out at the White House lawn .
Thus the militaryish Boy Scout enamel shield .

I have a picture of it in one of my knife books , I’ll have to look it up again .

Wow that's cool. Are the blades in good condition? If so if I were you I would snap it up.

The words vintage and antique are vague. Actually most words are vague. Even the word vague is vague.
