Deutschland Erwacht Pocket knife question

Post by Onepocketknife »

Hi All

I am new to the forum. I just got a small pocket knife and am interested to know a bit more about it. From the brief research I did, it appears that most of these knives are reproductions, that were made after the war. Has anyone seen one like this ? Others I have seen do not have an inscription on the blade. Does someone on here know what year this would have been made and by who ? It's a small one. Approx 3 inches.

I found this link, and this appears to be very similar.

The link says it is a 1932 Hitler youth knife. It doesn't show the blade though.

Your pictures are too dark to make out the detail,so I hope you don’t mind that I enhanced them. The knife may be legitimate but there many reproductions made of knives claimed to be from Nazi Germany. I’m certainly no expert but some here will know.

BTW the stamp translates to “Germany awakens”. (Analogous to the “woke” spreading amongst some in this country today. ::barf:: )

Funny how history repeats itself, isn't it, Ken? Especially when you don't know your history. 😉

Modern fantasy knife. A reproduction is a copy of an existing knife, these are mere fantasies since there were no originals to reproduce. These are common flea market items as are all the KKK fantasy knives.

What Gunsil said.

Bernard Levine stated repeatedly years ago that there were no authentic period Nazi pocketknives and then someone sent him one that he decided was authentic.

Unfortunately, the OP knife is not.

A good many of these fantasy knives, Nazi and KKK, were imported by Jim Parker. He had a table filled with boxes of KKK knives in Chattanooga one year, probably more. They were made for him in Germany.
