Re: Jay Bigler: His pocket knives
I am so happy that I have made my very first sale in my "store". Yay! I have been a little bit snowed in, but things will be warming up tomorrow, and I hope to get that knife in the mail then. In the meantime, I have added another in the store. This is it...

Re: Jay Bigler: His pocket knives
I do, too. It's a beautiful wood. A quick story about Dad... His love of exotic woods was a long one. Well, all kinds of wood, really. Being a lumber dealer, one can easily understand that. All the woodwork in Dad's family home was made from rosewood. Of course, it was built way before the days of the Endangered Species Act restrictions, Back in the 1960s, there was a lumberyard a little south of DuQuoin, Illinois, that was going out of business. Dad bought their inventory which included a lot of exotic woods. I don't remember what they were. For school, I needed a show-and-tell display. Dad cut pieces of all those rare woods -- I think there were about seven or eight -- along with the regular wood used in building and glued them to a board to show the differences in them. I made a placard for each kind and took that to show in class. I don't remember whatever happened to that display. Wish I still had it.
