Hey From Oklahoma

Post by jayd001 »

I started my fascination with knives at a very young age. It's grown over the years to a point where I questioned how many knives was enough, you can never have too many. In early 2000's I began repairing folders and that turned into making my own knives.

You've ticked every box to be a knife man. Started young, how many is enough, etc, etc,. Welcome, you will fit right in here. ::nod:: ::tu:: ::handshake::

I have another passion and that's cars, especially old cars. After about four years of labor I recently completed the design and fabrication of a 1930's style race car. Maybe not appropriate for a knife forum but some of you might appreciate my effort. Thanks

Here's a link to a short YouTube video of my car.

The black spots on the blade was junk in the 440C bar stock I got at a gun/knife show years ago, showed up after heat treat.

This blade cracked near the tip about 2" long after heat treat.

Even though the tip broke you still wound-up with a nice short sword/knife with a tonto blade Jay, not so bad. I really like your work specially the innovative designs, and am also most pleased that you're an auto knife lover, there's not enough of us jus' like there's not enough knives! Welcome to AAPK from North Texas. I’ve got kinfolk all over NE Oklahoma and have spent some time there. What part are you from?
