Hello from Maryland
Hello from Maryland
Hello from Montgomery County, Maryland. My name is Jimmy and I live 9 miles from the White House in an 1933 farmhouse. I'm a civil engineer. I've been married 30 years with one son. I just bought my 90th. knife and thanks to you guys I found out about GEC and bought a nice folder. Most of my knives are vintage switchblades and folders. I've been collecting since the early 80's. I have Schrade, Prestos, Camillus, Dalton, Springer, Remington, Pressbutton, Flylock, Hubertus, Case, Cattaraugus, Microtech, Suresnap, Hammerbrand, Tenmil, Benchmade, Edgemaster, Imperial etc. I'd show them off but do not see how to post pics. I also play and have a few guitars. I look forward to learning some stuff from you guys.
Re: Hello from Maryland
Welcome Jimmy. Sounds like you have a pretty fair collection of autos. Hopefully you can figure out how to post pictures because we love seeing knives. This site will likely become a good sized part of your life when you get involved because of the caliber of the guys on this site. With the size of your collection and the focus of it, you probably will have a fair amount to offer when we have questions. Many of us have way over 90 knives but we tend to collect so many different kinds that we don't ever get all that expert in one style and are looking for information from guys that specialize more. I have a few autos, but concentrate more on older slip joints. ____Dave from Minnesota (DJKnife)

Thanks for the welcome. I'm not a prolific poster but I'll chime in if I can constructively contribute. I'll give the picture posting thing a try now by showing off my good weather car. It's a 1967 Camaro RS/SS convertible. 350/295, 4 speed, ps, front discs, pwr. top, AM/FM, fold down rear seat. She needs a refresh (paint, interior, top) but the old house comes first. I swear I'll drive the last finish nail in this old house, keel over and die. If this picture thing works I'll post some pics of my blades in the switchblade forum. Thanks and see you around.
