New member here from the English lake district ... Yes i'm a limey ::shrug::
Im a typical bad tempered countryman enjoying living in the middle of nowhere being happily grumpy
I am into all things fishing shooting 4x4 and camping related and when i'm not working restoring historical buildings i can be found with a rod or a rifle in hand . I must add i only shoot UK legal sub 12ft lb air rifles these days for hunting small game but i have been a professional hunter in Australia and New Zealand and carried most rifles up to .270 . I have joined here as im interested in quality field cutlery particularly Buck Leatherman and spyderco but Buck is my go to I took a Vanguard all over the world for 20 years till some lowlife stole my pack
I am off to gather some information from your fine forum

Thanks for the welcome guys im just touring the forum at the moment to find relevant sections
I will be happy to share some pics of life in the Lake district , until then have a Google of lake Ullswater that's my haunt and some of my fishing and shooting ground
Most of my Australia and New Zealand days where photographed on film rather than digital but there are a few if they are relevant to anything ::tu::

Welcome, Grumps. Thank Goodness for air rifles! Although I can shoot powder burner rifles, and do, I have a bevy of air rifles that I shoot in my back yard (and front yard) because I cannot shoot powder burners in the subdivision. Helps me keep my sanity, and helps keep my trigger finger sharp for when I do get to go deer hunting. Of course, I shoot much higher foot pounds than you are able, but from what I have read and seen on-line, 12 foot pounds of energy is quite adequate for rabbits, squirrels, etc. Glad you joined up here. Good shooting and happy knife hunting!

Several years ago my wife and I spent about a week wandering around your beautiful Lake District while on vacation. Maybe some day we will make it back there, since we have relatives in England (but they live near Newcastle).
