Hello from Kansas
Hello from Kansas
I am primarily a straight razor collector, but it got a little out of hand with finding ones to fix up. The majority of my straights are American steel from Case related brands. I buy every one with the intention of using it. I promiced my wife I wouldn’t buy any more razors until I have shaved with everyone I owned. I’m about two months into that, and probably won’t finish up until sometime in 2020.
Rather than razors, I started looking at knives a few moths ago. I always carry at least one knife, so I had 20 or so already. I’m up to about 40 knives now. Mix of traditional and modern folders, and six or seven fixed blades. For vintage, I love Little Valley steel and Western States. Came in here to figure out how to tear down and restore some of the knives I have. Lot of good information here.

WELCOME ABOARD Drygulch !!!!! Lots of good folk here willing to share unbelievable quantities of cutlery knowledge. The only thing not yet available is a qualified psychoanalyst that can offer assistance with "blade addiction".

Re: Hello from Kansas
As requested, here is most of my collection. I have two more canoes and a peanut inbound, and a few floating around the house not in the pictures. I work in an office, so most days I carry either one of the small modern folders or a canoe style knife. Weekends I carry whatever.

Welcome!
I like the old stacked fixed blades. Kind of a sucker for those!
Is that single blade, white celluloid, a Richards? It sure looks like it.
I think you’re going to like it here!

It’s actually an Imperial. It seems to have barely been used. Another light knife when I am wearing slacks at work.zoogirl wrote:Welcome!
