Just moved from AK to OR and joined here
Was encouraged to come over here and say hi. We've been on Bladeforums for some time as roseandthistlecustom and realized since pocket knives is our thing we should be here too. I'm Josh and Rose usually follows along on what I post. We both use, collect and customize knives, almost exclusively Great Eastern Cutlery and Benchmade. I've been specializing in Proper scales and once I get a shop set up here I'm going to be trying to start on Lionsteel Shuffler and Roundhead also GEC recovers are going to be in the works. We both also do small fixed blade and kitchen knives.

Welcome Josh! I recognize you from the other forum. Your comments make me want to buy a Roundhead and get some custom scales for it.
In the meantime, I'll be keeping an eye out to see if you ever decide to do custom scales for the Lion Steel Best Man. Great knife!

Welcome to Oregon.
Have you joined the Oregon Knife Collectors Association yet?
It's one of the best knife clubs in the country, IMHO, and has without a doubt the best show west of the Mississippi for old knives and customs, and some say it's the best show in the world.
We also have a one-day show in December. The main show is in April, if you hurry you may still be able to get a table.
The OKCA is located in Eugene I'm about 60 miles north of Eugene in Salem.
Send me a PM when you have a chance, and I will tell you more about the Club in the shows.

Orvet,
It was the OKCA show back in '95 that got me started in knives. I got a bunch of Engnath blades (still have 2, if anyone here wants them give a holler).
Railsplitter,
Have you had the covers off your best men? If there aren't too many spots that have to be drilled out from the back I could probably do some for you. I would need either the scales for templates. What material are you thinking of?
I'm excited about moving towards traditional recovers. A friend just sent me this to work on. A TC Barlow, I'm thinking of blue G10 covers. Waiting for my new drill press and haven't got a vise yet.
