Greetings from the Heartland!

Post by TheDudest »

Hi all, freshly minted member here.

Every time I've had a question about one of the many knives in my collection, the AAPK forum consistently comes through with the info - it's high time I commit myself to the cause!

My current EDC is a ZT 0770CF, but I've also carried the Kershaw Knockout - one of which got gotten by the TSA when I forgot I had it in my pocket. Since that sad day, I've filled the emotional sinkhole by collecting a whole bunch of the different Knockout iterations.

I've been bitten by SpeedSafe bug and I may as well admit I have a tactile addiction to that snappy action found on many ZTs & Kershaws. I'm considering switching to a fixed blade in a cross-draw OWB sheath since I only carry a knife for self-defense - my pristine knives are reserved for that sole purpose, never for breaking down boxes or other mundane tasks. To that end, is the fun factor of the assisted open going to prove too fiddley in a life-or-death scenario? I never want to confirm that suspicion, hence the likely move to the fixed blade approach. I'll certainly be interested in forum memebers' take on this dilemma.

I'm also sitting on a nest of newly SPA'd Buck 110s, so I may be posting some of those & others for sale on here.

Other knife faves: Parker Edwards & other damascus blades, small-shop hand-forged beauties made by wizened masters, anything made in the USA.

Also, I'm a gun guy, so you can bet on hearing me chime in on those discussions as well.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you gents!

Welcome to AAPK. Glad to have you aboard. Since you have frequently visited the forum, you have probably noticed that you need a store or a premium membership to sell on AAPK.

Welcome Zach. I like the speed safe knives as well. Mcusta’s are my favorite tactical but they don’t have any spring assisted knives.
If you are looking for a good handmade fixed blade, you should check out GKnives here on AAPK. He hand makes all his knives and sheaths and does an excellent job.
Again, welcome aboard and hope to hear more from you.
