New guy from Europe

Post by tomasf »

Hello everyone and greeting from Czech Republic - Europe. My name is Tomas and I am a long time knife collector. I collect traditional pocket knives primarily and most of them are from GEC. I am participating in other forums and groups, but I am new to AAPK. I appreciate the knowledge and enthusiasm this forum represents. I also hope to purchase a knife or two from the AAPK store in the near future

Welcome Tomas! We are glad to have you join us. Fell free to jump right in to any of the areas you have an interest in and remember one very important fact...we love pictures, so anytime it's possible be sure to include them of the knife or item you are posting about.... ::tu::

Hi Jerry. Yes, I am a native Czech. Now I live in Prague, it is a very beautiful city and I like it very much. But I also like our Šumava mountains, where I came from ::tu::

Welcome Tomas, Nice knives and you have some pretty good photography skills as well. I like the photo in your avatar. I hadn’t thought to take a picture from that angle, I like it.

Thank you Jerry for your compliment, but I have to say my English is not that good, I just try to hide my shortcomings - from my point of view, I speak more like a caveman than a gentleman  I tried to learn French in college, but honestly, it was a failure. I also speak a little Polish from when I was visiting my grandparents. If you are a fan of foreign languages, try to learn to speak Czech, I recommend it, you will like it  I know a guy from New York who can speak Czech as well as some natives can't ::tu::

Thank you buddy ::handshake:: I like to experiment with lighting and perspective. I have been heavily into black and white photography and darkroom techniques for several years, it has been in my blood ever since and I hope to have more time to return to it in the future.

Welcome aboard! You have very good taste in knives!

It’s wonderful to have you with us, and yes, your written English is very good 👍🏻. I’m afraid it will be us “native” English speakers who sound the most like cavemen. Everyone butchers they’re own language.
