House is all boarded up and hunkering down, Were in the Bradenton/Sarasota area and Ian is approaching a Category 5 Hurricane, expected to make landfall just south of us.

Stay safe, Scott. I just heard a weather reporter say this storm has characteristics (pressure, estimated size, etc) similar to the devastating hurricane that hit Galveston in 1900. Of course back then they didn’t have the equipment to forecast it’s path or forewarn the population.

Been feeling the affects of it for the last 24 hours or so . We’re just south of it .

Keep remembering the Michael storm in 2018, we know what those folks down on the coast are dealing with. All our kin folks and friends have reported just a lot of rain with no structural damage in eastern Orange County and in Brevard County, diagonally up and northeast across the state from where Ian came ashore.
Dale, I will always remember you purchasing an AAPK knife for me when we went through the 2018 hurricane with no power for 11 days, Thanks again for that special act of kindness.
