Good Sunday morning. The class reunion was a blast, I got 4 great pearls and a nice bone Keen Kutter(see Knife Finds of the Day) at the club meeting and I found a nice little gun locker for my work truck at a rummage sale for a buck so Saturday was a roaring success. Now it's off to the county fair where our church is joining a couple other area churches for worship this morning and then a day wandering around the fairgrounds. This is looking like a near perfect weekend. Sounds like Scott and Phil are having there share of fun Grandkid time too. Hope you are having a good one too.___________Dave

Mornin' all. I am still kinda bleary-eyed but I have my 1st cup poured. Hopefully, it will help get my eyes open. Gotta get ready for church. Today is church picnic day and we are hoping for a couple hundred mouths to feed. Our congregation is not quite that big but we hope to draw a contingent from the neighborhood.
Hope you all have a good day. ::tu::

Good morning fellas! I've got a barely drinkable cup of motel coffee here this morning. I may have to go down to the truck and drag my coffee pot up here to get a decent one. I'll get it worked out though.
Y'all have a great Sunday!

Going to be another sunny, hot day. Some birds are already beginning to move south. Most of the Robins, of which we had many, are gone. The Hummingbirds left about 2 days ago. Still have Mourning Doves and two juvenile female Cardinals. And of course sparrows. Expect we will be seeing migrants by September and hope to see a wide variety this winter.

Stay safe.

Mornin', Ray! Where's the broom? :) Nobody stirrin' here at home but me, the dog doesn't even want to go out. Weather folks are sayin' we may have way too much cloud cover to really experience the eclipse, I guess I can live through that big disappointment. ::mdm:: Going to try and make another batch of pickled peppers today.
The rest of y'all enjoy a cup when you can get here, Ray made a good pot!
Have a great day.

Good Monday morning. My hip is feeling better just in time for work today. Still hurts to walk though. We have a light day putting up soffet and facia on a garage. Tonight we are meeting friends from the Air Force we haven't seen in about 20 years so we have a ton of catching up to do. They only live about 150 miles away but we just lost contact with them and he found me on Facebook. Today is suppose to be just above 70 for a high so it's perfect for working. have a great week. ____Dave

We had our annual Cousin's Reunion in Dayton OH this year. I've made that drive dozens of times over the years but this time it was just a bit more tiring. Took the shortest route going down and shot through Chicago like a dose of salts through the hired girl. I-65 to Indianapolis? Not so great. Road work and traffic as thick as hair on a dog's back. Ugh. Came back I-70, I-74, I-39 which is a tad bit farther but light traffic and smooth roads. I'm plum wore out.

They dragged me over to Wright Patterson AF Base to the Air Force Museum on Saturday and I saw enough planes to last me a lifetime. Left there and drove over to Clifton OH to see the Clifton grist mill. Wasted trip. Sometime since I was last there some 25 years ago, they closed the grist mill down and now it's just a restaurant. Sigh. Always good to see the cousins though.

Put in a mail stop for Friday and Saturday. They delivered on Friday anyway. The Post Office is starting to get on my last nerve.

Eye appointment at the Madison VA on Wednesday. More driving.

Y'all enjoy your week and keep those cards and letters coming.

Sort of a hazy sky at the moment. Doubtful how much of the eclipse will be seen. I've seen two full solar eclipses, one in the Philippines and another in Hawaii. An astronomer said that seeing anything less than the full eclipse, say 90%, will be interesting but just not as spectacular as the full monte.

Keep safe and healthy as possible.

Mornin' Scott, Ray. I'm up earlier than normal and I'm not real crazy about it. The bed is still calling my name.

Good Mornin', Men.
Glad y'all survived the eclipse. One comment about the eclipse, the temperature dropped from 93 to 86 and then back up to 90 after it passed by, kinda' interesting.
This mornin' Miss Joy fed the birds and squirrels and I made a fresh pot for us to enjoy. It's 72 this am, almost feels good out side.
Got to finish the pickled peppers today, got 'em all cleaned and cut up yesterday ready for the hot vinegar to be poured.
Y'all have a blessed day!

Good morning. We had a great time last night having dinner with old Air Force friends. WE finished our siding job yesterday and I'm not sure which job we will tackle next but the list just seems to grow instead of getting smaller. The cooler temps make me want to push even harder to get things done before winter sets in. It's been around 50 to start each day and gets up to just over 70 during the day and a few of the leaves are already changing. These old bones are starting to dread the cold coming. This summer went so fast it's all a blur. Have a great Tuesday. ____Dave

Happy Tuesday everyone! The pre-listing punch list is actually shrinking and things are coming together. Contractors and maintenance firms are scheduled and we should be officially "for sale" on September 8th. We are fortunate to have much more demand than supply so hopefully we'll have a quick contract and sale (fingers crossed). Groundbreaking in Delaware is about 6-weeks away so with any luck we'll be watching the Super Bowl in our new digs. Looking forward to today as #1 son returns from Uganda after volunteering to install solar panels at schools where they teach young men how to weld for a living. Good to know that giving-back is a part of his makeup, we did something right! Have e great day everyone.

Now that I've had time to sweat. Coffee was ok this morning. Not great. Not terrible.
I went doing chores. Grocery store, bank(s), post office, library and dropped off trash.
Came back and worked on the lawn tractor and the aerobic system spray heads.
Now I'm trying to cool off and I'm going to look at coins for a while.
