If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

How many vets do we have on this site and when did you serve? I served in the Navy 1968 to 1972, 2 tours (West pac Cruises) in Vietnam. MM3, Forward engine room on a destroyer.

USN '71-'77. Airdale. Got out as an Aviation Ordnanceman 2nd Class (AO2).

Westpac on the USS AMERICA CVA-66. My Squadron was attached to CAG-8 and we were part of Task Force 66. My squadron was VA-82, home based at NAS Cecil Field, JAX, FL. They flew A-7C Corsair II's. We were the last air wing to drop bombs on Viet-Nam before the cease fire went into effect in Jan of '73.

My old ship is on the bottom of the Atlantic and VA-82 is now VFA-82 and flying F-18's.

EDIT: VFA-82 was disestablished 30 Sept 2005.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VFA-82 The pics of the A-7"C" birds were my babies. I armed the bombs that blew down the Than Hoa Bridge, which at the time they dumped it, was the most heavily defended piece of real estate in 'Nam.

Here's a pic of my Father/Me after he pinned my jump wings on ... and then a pic of him some time around 1959-61. Dad passed this year - so I like to remember him when I can.

To many times I hear of Vets fighting over sea and then when they come home they have to fight to get benifits they deserve.

I'm thankful to every Vet that put in their time and hard work into every year, month, and day of your service to our great country. I appreciate every one of you protecting and fighting for our rights granted to us by the United States Constitution. Your belief and faith in the United States shown through your work was not for nothing. Every single one of you did make a difference in this world and you deserve the up most respect for doing so. To those that didn't make it back and who paid the ultimate price for freedom, they are America's finest. May God bless you all.

Regards, Aimus.
