When a larger group/ herd are seen, it is an amazing sight. Even Mother and foal like I pictured. Unfortunately, rancher don't care for them as they compete with grazing cows for pasture.
Don't know all the details but they even have BLM roundups and make it super difficult to adopt one. That's the government for you.

We have wild burros here as well. Pic taken on way up to Trident Peak. Amazing country. First pic has the young baby partially visible.

Jerry
Great pics. Is that a wild burro? If so, wonder how it got that halter on it? Fascinating. Thanks for the info too.

Well, good point on halter. Someone else pointed that out as well. Personally, I did not notice as I just was looking at the forest, not the tree.
If it is an escapee, he is far from home as he was way up the mountain with his/her little sidekick. Maybe someone haltered her wild and couldn't complete the catch.
Regardless, there are many, many halterless wild burros in those ranges in that area.
They have the road signs along that state route with a burro silhouette like they have for cows, deer and other big game you normally see. Only road in US that I have personally seen that sign.

Thanks for inquiring and for noticing. That halter is a mystery.

Good looking Bobcat, TF!

My Wife and I went out for Catfish tonight, and I drove home on the back roads. I saw this deer at a remote RR crossing, just standing there watching me rumble by. I enlarged the pic a little, she was about 100 yards down the tracks.

Great pics Gents. Outdoors is outdoors.

Saipan Peak as it is called. Hot Springs Range, Nevada.
Pics are from from one of my mountain top offices/ sites as I call them..
4WD access. Muck and mud, sometimes dry, changes quickly. Very little precipitation alters the road drastically.

Spring to summer transition here is beautiful mornings followed by cold and thunderstorms.

Love Nevada. Also, fond of many other areas in the states for their unique beauty.

So different that any of the woods in our part of the world. If I lived out there, I'd have to learn to shoot beyond 150 yards plus I'd need my other knee replaced.

Great to hear from you, Philip! Hope you and Miss Joy are well.

Yes, the PLUS on yardage statement is accurate. No tree stands here as we have very limited trees. No place to funnel them in this vast desert. Does usually include some serious scouting and uphill climbing. One ain't backing up pickup to carry out the haul either.

200 yds average shot. 600 yard shots on game is not uncommon.

Regardless, GOD'S Country!

Awesome catch, Georgi, very pretty looking wildflowers too.

Hot and dry at the farm this weekend, but our spring is still running pretty good. My brother mowed the field around the house Memorial Day weekend, or it would be pretty brown looking right now. Might have to bail hay and start feeding it.

John, what do you grow in your farm?

Hay, beef cattle (mostly Angus mix), eggs from 15 chickens and some fruits and vegetables. In the past we have had pigs, turkeys, roaster chickens and goats. There's always something to feed, water, fix or finish!
