I enjoy watching the game from time to time.....I really enjoyed the documentary on baseball by Ken Burns - what a great job Burns did making it too - anyone that's a baseball fan and hasn't seen that film is missing something pretty special - it's Dodgers/Angels/and Texas Rangers and the San Francisco Giants / Oakland A's too - these parts - I like the Game just have never been a follower or true fan of any one team, goes for football too - I like a good Rodeo more than anything PBR ~ Good Stuff ~

if you haven't had the chance to see that Ken Burns Documentary - Put it on your to do list - You'll be glad you did - 10 Innings about 15 to 20 Hours on nothing but Baseball ~ MMK

Didn’t take long to dash the hopes. I predicted 74 wins, maybe high considering the other teams in division. Ughh

Harper made his debut playing for the other guys at Nats Park last night, to resounding BOOs. I'm happy he left because the Nats need relief pitching and a formidable bat, not some guy who strikes out a lot. Harper did get an RBI last night after striking out in his first two at-bats. Planning on going to the April 12th game; Juan Soto bobblehead giveaway and WVU night all in the same game. ::groove::

We're pretty pleased so far with Harper. Aside from him striking out a lot, he does help Hoskins get better pitches to hit. And he is at 429 for a BA 2019 season.

Sometimes players just need a change of scenery to turn things around a bit. New team and teammates, different, better chemistry, who knows. The Phils added JT Realmuto, McCutcheon, Segura in addition to Bryce Harper. All are in the lineup everyday so far and all have made important contributions. ::tu::

And the game is still on down there in DC. The Nats have added a run in the 8th.

Bullpen. ::facepalm::

Got the sweep, bittersweet as it was. Two games in a row got WAY too close for my liking in the 9th against a streaky Marlins offense. The team may look very different but those Cardiac Amazins are still in Queens...

Nats over the Phils yesterday, afternoon game in D C. 9th inning reliever, Robertson gives up a single and then walks 3, that's right, 3 batters in a row, a walk off walk for chrisss sake. Humiliating! ::dang:: ::dang::

Yes, time will tell and he's got 13 years to prove something. Weird ending to yesterday's game but sometimes that happens. Let's see what today brings, seems like a perfect day for baseball here, weather wise. ::tu::

Cubs snapped their 6 game losing streak tonight. It took 3 hours & 54 minutes to beat the Brewers, in Milwaukee, 14-8. ::ds::

Ouch!

Phils escaped with a win today over the Twins, 3/2. Hoskins hit a 2 run dinger to pull them over the hump. Nats up next at home and then at the Fish for 3. ::tu::

Woo Hoo baby. Cubs took the home opener from the Pie-Rates 10-0. In the 2nd inning, even the pitcher (Jon Lester) got a hit (double) and scored a run. Hope springs eternal.

Your Mets are gettin' bombed tonite, 2 3run homers in the first. Sweet! 8 to 0 and still no one out.

After last night, that was necessary. :D

McCutcheon just doubled for the second time this inning.

Friday in the first game of the season against the Red Birds and the first game of a three game series with the Birds, "The Professor" Hendricks was SPECTACULAR!!!!! He threw a 4-0 shut out, complete 9 inning game in only 81 pitches. The man was on cruise control.

[The extension gif has been deactivated and can no longer be displayed.]

Speaking of gems, I get to break out the broom for the second sweep of the season. Cubs took down the Red Birds tonight 13-5 and if the Cubs had not brought Tyler Chatwood in for the 9th, it very well could have been 13-2. Everyone except the pitcher got at least one hit. Kris Bryant launched a Grand Slam in the 8th but he made up for it by committing 3 of the 4 errors the Cubs had. Quintana pitched very well, thank you.

Thanks Cards. Come back and see us again sometime. Oh yeah, that's right, Cubs take a trip down to St. Louie for a 3 game stand on May 31st. I hate to get greedy (no I don't) but I hope they have a repeat performance.

The Phils are trying to help those Cubbies out but it didn't go well last night Jerry. 1 to 0 right now Phils ahead. Cards look pretty good.
