If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

WMSR Restoration of C&O 1309

Post by 1967redrider »

This project has been in process for several years now. Due to many issues, like unforseen extra repairs, fund raising, Covid and even employee theft, I was beginning to think this was not going to ever be completed. Well, the time is finally here and the old Chesapeake and Ohio 1309 steam-engine moved under it's own power for the first time in several decades.

https://wmsr.com/2021/01/a-new-year-in-steam/

Make sure you check out the video, it's pretty cool to see the engine moving under steam. Attaching some pictures for those unable to stream the video. Seeing it actually working almost brought a tear to my eye. Adding a ride on this to my bucket list.

A great accomplishment by dedicated men & women to get a 64 year old locomotive moving again under its own power. Great project.

Great video! That's a lot of work to get that done but definitely worth doing. Puts a smile on my face to see a steam loco under steam and running. ::tu::
