Re: BIG-TIME!!! "small talk "
I started this thread because I sometimes just feel like chatting about this, that & the other thing but there is no real place to do so & I would have to start new threads all the time. Now I, or we, or whoever wants to, can just chatt away about anything whenever we are in the mood. I had some stuff to chatt away about when I started this thread but I'll have to get back to it later on. The wife is calling me to hang up some curtains & we have to eat lunch after that & & &.

Make sure the curtains are level.
Re: BIG-TIME!!! "small talk "
If getting the curtains in place required installation of wall anchors, I hope you're better at that than I!

When hanging curtains or blinds here, my mom usually helps my wife and my job is to get out of the house. lol. I like it that way.

Oh boy, Tommy Boy. You don't realize the jar of pickles you've opened... Nice 'n crunchy, no garlic, tastes like actual pickles.

Those are good. Vlasic made a Chipotle pickle that was good. First taste was sweet, like a bread and butter pickle, but then a touch of heat would back it up. If they're still made, I can't find 'emjerryd6818 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 17, 2021 8:59 am My favorites are Famous Dave's Spicy pickles. Spicy but not too spicy. I use the chips on sandwiches.

Y’all ever heard of fire and ice pickles? We used to make them, and I have the recipe somewhere.
They’re a sweet pickle that you make out of store bought dill pickles. Delicious! Sweet with a bit of heat.

Re: BIG-TIME!!! "small talk "
The conspiracy against poor knife collectors.
After just over two years of knife collecting, I have noticed a couple of things on the worlds largest auction plattform the just don't make no sense.
1) Why do some people sell 10-30-? knives out of a nice knife collection all at once? Often within min. or even seconds of each other. Why? They could get much better prices if they sold them off slowly. IMO I just don't get it.
1b) On the other hand . It sometimes gives one a chance to grab a knife they might not have gotten otherwise because even the richest of collectors can"t bid on twenty or thirty knives ending within min. or seconds of another.
2) Now this second point may not apply to the US. But over here in Germany the larger part of the population only gets one pay check at the beginning of the month. So why do I always find the best knives towards the end of the month? When I'm broke! Everyone who lives here should know that people have more money at the beginning of the month. I just don't get it!
They are out to get me.
Just thinking out loud.

Yup. Can live without air, but pickles I cannot.

Thank God for pickles!

I suggest you use a Snipe program like Gixen. It's free. With Gixen you can automatically bid on several items even if they all go out at exactly the same time.
Decide on your maximum bid. Enter it in Gixen and relax. It will bid for you at the last ta-da nick of time. You don't even have to be close to a computer/cell phone or even awake.

Sometimes I'm at work when knives sell. Or I have to stay up later than I want to. Heck, "That's slicker than snot on a door knob!". I'll have to check those out. Thanks for the Tip!
small talking just paid off BIG-TIME for me!

Re: BIG-TIME!!! "small talk "
Well Tom, interesting thread name, we’ve all got a bit of that . A big time issue of mine is lack of respect in younger generation.Maybe am making this a bigger deal than ought to be,but for some years it’s been obvious. We have several Colleges here in the Valley, and many students stay here year round till graduating. My big time issue is lack of Respect. More than once have held a door, let someone else take parking spot close to door,or given a hand to some younger folks. Can’t remember when the last time was that a younger person did any of that. I mean not even hold the door for my wife, which really irritated me. Are students that selfish and narrow minded that they only care about themselves Then the other day I parked my Truck at Festival foods ,in a Reserved for Veterans spot and got out to get some groceries. Well 3 college age boys were standing by a car, one yells “old man ,that’s for Veterans only. Well that got the blood pressure going . I pointed to my Retired Vet plate and told them to shut the F up and go back to school and learn how to read instead of partying away all Daddies money. Really wanted to go over and tip em all over ,but realized didn’t have enough bail money on me so just walked away . Boy was I hot,it took every ounce of restraint I had to walk away .
So there you go Tom, my feeble attempt to support your thread here. Need to say thank you for letting me vent some here ,catch you later!
