Opening day Baseball

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

I guess it depends on the events in each game. Yesterday my youngest son and I went to the Rangers opening day versus the Phillies. Sold out stadium, brats, nachos, hot dogs and cold beer, and the Rangers came from behind to win the game. National anthem was sung by the Texas Tenors, pregame honored 200 year anniversary of the Texas Rangers law enforcement agency. 60 Texas Rangers LEO on hand including one, escorted onto the field by Nolan Ryan, who threw out the first pitch. Great time was had by all!

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Other than the pitch clock timer displays I didn’t notice any particular differences in the game we saw - no impact on the game at all. Most of the time the pitchers started their windups before the allotted 15 seconds was even half over. Final score was 11-7, so lots of runners on base, but was mostly a slugfest and the game lasted just over 3 hours.

When the people fear their government, that is tyranny. When government fears the people, that is freedom.

I don't like most of the new rules, but man, I love baseball.
The greatest sport on the planet.
