Thank you mysterious stranger for donating this great knife. Thank you Tom for running this show so smoothly.

The only down side is that since this is leap year we'll have to wait an extra day to find out who the winner is. ::mdm::

Very nice!
I have a few Remingtons, which I like because of the old connection to Pal. Plus, darn, that’s a pretty knife!
I’m too young to be this old!

Regarding the link with Pal, keep in mind that this Remington was probably made by Camillus years after the original Remington knife factory closed its doors in 1940 (?).

As always, thanks to our anonymous donor of this lovely Camillus Remington moose! ::handshake::

Yep, which is why I said ‘old’ connection! I know the link is long dead, but enough ghost remains to make me sit up and take notice of Remingtons. Dunno why I got int Pal so much. Prob because my first and favorite fixed is a Pal.

Congratulations Sharpnshinyknives (Mark)! Your pick of 333 was the closest to last nights Illinois Pick-3 lottery winning number! A PM is on the way! And to think that you just won last November, that's some good Karma coming your way!

The Remington arrived today and the anonymous donor had blacked out his or her name so they really wanted to remain anonymous. It’s a beauty. I really like these wooden handles. There is just something so warm and inviting about wooden handles on a knife and it works great on this one. I am assuming that Camillus made this one? It looks like their work to me, but I don’t collect Remington’s or Camillus’s. This is in mint condition which is remarkable for a 23 year old knife. I Simichromed the metal on this and mineral oiled the handles, my usual process for any knife, and man she really shines.
Thank you whoever you are for donating this wonderful knife.
Thank you Tom for coordinating all of this.
Thank you all for the well wishes.
I am so blessed to be a part of this forum.
