2020 Duck Decoy Giveaway

Post by OLDE CUTLER »

Last year to commemorate National Handmade Day On April 7, I gave away one of my hand made decoys. This year National Handmade Day falls on April 4, but upon looking at the calendar and seeing that April 7 this year is NATIONAL BEER DAY, I have decided to stay with April 7. This is my modern made replica of an old pattern called a "wire and canvas" decoy. Instead of a decoy made from one solid piece of wood, or two pieces hollowed out, these were made from wood, wire, and canvas in areas of the country that did not have large trees for decoy blocks. They were also lighter in weight than all wood decoys, so more could be carried for the same weight. All the winner needs to do is clear out some space in their man cave or she shed for this fine bird to have a place to roost. For photos on how these are constructed, click this link.

This will be run like the monthly knife give away. Click here to get your number.
numberselector.php?giveaway=5001

You will have until April 7 (6:00 P.M. Eastern) to pick a number. After this time, an official "Final List" of the entrants will be posted in this thread. The winner will be determined by the Illinois State Lottery evening pick three drawing on April 7. The Individual closest to the selected number without going over will win. The Illinois lottery results can be found on the following website:
https://www.illinoislottery.com/dbg/play/pick3

You must be 18 years of age or older to play. Previous winners are not eligible (yes that means you rea1eye). The winner will be sent a PM after the drawing and will have 10 days to respond with your name and shipping address, if you do not respond within the allotted time the knife will be given to the next closest winner on the list without going over.

Thanks Bryan for your help in setting this up.

This Bluebill is the actual bird the winner will receive.

Thanks for offering this again O.C. I got the one you sent me last year on my shelf.
This is a wonderful pick-up for our spirits during these very difficult times.

Very nice! My wife collected duck for years, it all started with an old wooden decoy that I had when I was a young boy. We’ll submit an entry.
Thank you for the opportunity.

Only about a half hour to get your number for a chance to win the decoy. In the next couple of days the fine bird shown above will be migrating to someones location to take up a roosting place in your man-cave or she-shed.

The duck has migrated south to Indiana.
Jim, your photo does not give justice to the beauty and detail of this magnificent decoy.
It looks great on my shelf in front of some of my knife books.
Thanks again!
