Thanks dogg. I usta be a fixed blade guy until I got bit by the pocketknife bug. I still pick one up on occasion. For several months I've been mulling over a Buck 119 with Red Phenolic handles. They ran out at Copper & Clad but now I see they've restocked. ::hmm:: Maybe in February.

Jerry, I remember when the Buck Nighthawk came out. I always thought it was a good looking knife.

not really what I look for but I seem to end up with them: From top, A Kershaw USA 1900, An unused Buck 279, a CRKT Ken Onion that came in the last pos exchange, and the blue one is a Gerber. It would be a black knife if it was, you know, a different color.

These Cold Steel Recon 1 series knives impressed me a lot, especially for their sub-$100 price. Made in Taiwan, though. Still, very well made with S35VN blades and razor-sharp out of the box -- maybe the sharpest new knives I've purchased.
The photo doesn't do them justice -- they look "cheap" to me in the photo, but they are actually quite nice. What looks like black paint on the blades is actually extremely durable tungsten DLC (diamond-like coating).
Cold Steel copy.jpg
I have a nice assortment of Benchmade folders that tend to be my back-pocket EDC blades (a traditional in the front pocket). Also have some black Spyderco knives, but I don't have photos of any of those. I'll have to get them together for some "family" photos.

How about some Emersons? I love the Wave Opening feature. They are easier and faster to deploy than an automatic knife, as well as being well-made of quality materials.
Oops... one non-black-colored one snuck in...

Got this Richards Sheffield England knife a week or two ago. Didn't really know where to post it. Kinda like a Loomfixer but it's smaller than a Loomfixer as I was told so I guess it's a Sway Back Jack. ::hmm::
Whatever it is, it's in good condition and it has slick black composition handles on it. ::nod:: 8)
Zoogirl / Ann says it may be from the 50's or early 60's but that's just a guess. ::shrug::

Thanks for looking friends! ::handshake::

Your Richards is a very interesting pick up Tom. And thanks for your observation on my knives. This thread reminded me of some nice knives I hadn't given much thought to for some time.

OK I guess I'll split this up into two categories:
ALL BLACK knives and BLACK HANDLED knives.
Most of the all black ones are Pacific Rim knives except for the BLACKIE Collins knives.
