Honey Badger Ball bearing flipper
Honey Badger Ball bearing flipper
Due to an unfortunate accident I have limited use of my thumb on my right hand.
I started the quest to look for a non assisted knife that would be easy to open and that would be inexpensive enough that I would not feel bad about EDCing.
I found the honey badger flipper and after reading all of the positive reviews bought one for $30.
Well I was amazed. Deep pocket carry clip on FRN handles and ball bearings all for this price. The detent setup is perfect allowing me to open it with a flick of my index finger.
Knives were shaving sharp out of the box. I touch up the large one which I use daily, on a stone and a strop.
Five months later I have now added a medium and a small version as well. Here is my large black along side my medium tan and small black versions.

Here also is a medium green model to which I attached a lanyard.

Streak, glad you found something that fit your need. Practical looking knives. And the price is right. Good for you.
Also welcome to AAPK.

Welcome Streak. Those all look like good, practical knives. The largest one would most likely be my pick of the bunch. I kinda like a flipper on that type of knife. Gives me something to do while I'm waiting on my wife in the car.

Hi Philco and quicksteel.
Thanks for the welcome.
I spend a lot of time flipping these knives, really therapeutic! Tolerances are quite close from the factory so this really does help run them in a little.
Here's me playing with them. They almost appear to be spring assisted. Those 18 ball bearings really do help!
Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome to AAPK! Nice looking knives. I'm not much on pocket clips but I do carry in the back pocket with a lanyard similar to the one on your black knife. Also like that you can flick open with one hand which is a must for my back pocket knife. Seems I'm often stuck holding something with one hand, while needing to get my knife open with the other hand. Looks like those knives fit the bill!

I hear you Ken. I work a lot with my hands and often find myself in a situation where I need the knife but only have one hand available.
The other pocket has a flashlight clipped onto it and on the belt I have the multi-tool.
According to my wife there is no cure!

Some days I have been accused of having stolen Batman's utility belt. I also like bib overalls when its not too hot - lots of pockets. But I forget what pocket I put stuff in.streak wrote:I hear you Ken. I work a lot with my hands and often find myself in a situation where I need the knife but only have one hand available.

Watched a video on the Honey Badger flipper. The knife comes from a Soth African company. Appears to be a great value at 30 bucks.
Re: Honey Badger Ball bearing flipper
Yes. I actually got my my large black one sent directly from South Africa.
Since then they have upgraded them slightly and now available on Amazon in the USA.

Oh boy, I guess when you find a system that works for you (and won't break the bank) you just need to get one of each!

They make a Spyderco-styled fully serrated hawkbill? Guess I might just try one of those out.

When I watched the video on this blog article https://westernactive.com/honey-badger- ... dger-claw/ I thought it's time I tried one.cody6268 wrote:streak wrote:Oh boy, I guess when you find a system that works for you (and won't break the bank) you just need to get one of each!
