Wüsthof Solingen Stockman approx. worth?

Post by jcootspl »

Correct me if not allowed, but I searched for a forum topic on the value of knives. I have a pre-trident solingen I think from 1940s back, just looking for an approximate value. Haven’t found much info online, only what other members have provided here thankfully. Posting pictures below. Any & all help is appreciated 🙏🏻

Hard to say based on the pictures posted. It looks like the master blade might be short and the spey blade might be reprofiled. Very uncommon to find Wusthof brand pocket knives so the knife might be very desireable to the right collector but again hard to say based on the pictures provided.

Closed length of the knife and better pictures would help. Defects including handle cracks and loss of blade snap make a difference.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Likely to be difficult to find sales of a comparable knife on which to base an estimated value. As Wayne says, condition is paramount. Your knife is definitely not mint but assuming it has good snap opening and closing, and the blades are not short, I’d guess $70 -$100. JMO. A collector of Wüsthoff cutlery or German knives in general might go higher. Best thing it has going for it is the stag covers. ::tu::

Thank you gentlemen. I’ll post more pictures shortly as requested, I don’t think I’ll ever sell. It was just for the sake of curiosity because I haven’t been able to find anything on it 😂

I’ll post some more photos below, and hope it helps.

All three blades close with a snap, no cracks, no pins missing.

Nice old knife but unfortunately the master blade is very short of the original length. That one defect hurts the value such that the knife migth only be valued as a user. A good master blade might triple that value or more. $30 or so, as is IMO.
